Kidney Stone up date

I still haven't passed it. I have tried to stay hydrated as much as possible. The intense pain has passed but still have a nagging one. I also have pain literally out my HOOOHAAA. I called my primary care physician. They can not get me in for 2 weeks. Called my RNY doctor. They said he doesn't handle that go back to primary care. Soooo now I am so mad and aggrevated I don't want to go anywhere. I have an appointment for my year post op check up next week they pushed it up to  this Friday and said he would refer me to another doctor then if I needed to go. Mean while. I am trying to stay hydrated worried the awful pain will return. I asked the nurse on the phone if she could get him to just call me in some pain meds so when the pain hits I have something to take. When the pain hits really hard it is awful. It will hit so hard it makes you feel like you are going to throw up. The nurse said no he can not call in anything for you like that. I said well if I could get someone else to see me what can I take? She said that he would probably suggest Loratab elixer because it would work good for that and head the pain off before it got really bad. I started to cry. I said so should I cancel my appointment for Friday because obviously he can not help me if he could he would call me in something now. She said no just come on and he will refer you out to someone. Got to love a nurse on a power trip!!!

Is the ER or a Urgent Care type place an option?  At least you could get immediate (or kind of) help?

I would go to the ED or Urgent Care. At least, you might be able to get some pain meds.

I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time getting in to see someone.

I would do like the others suggested and go to an urgent care of the ER.  Could you call your primary care doctor back and tell them you need to see someone right away.  That would make me so angry that they would not work you in.  I would have to change doctors when this was over.  Two weeks is way too long to wait.

Hope you get some relief soon.  Will be thinking about you.

Went to urgent care. They gave me a shot in the butt for pain. They wouldn't give me any other pain meds. They gave me an antibiotic for infection and some of that stuff that makes your pee turn orange. They said if they gave me pain meds it could cover up the pain and the stone could get lodged causing my kidney to blow.  Guess that wouldn't be good either. They told me to find a urologist. If I get in pain again to go to the ER. That's the update for now.

Awww Danielle (((HUGS))) I'm so sorry you're going through this. What's up with the Docs anyway? You'd think NONE of them have ever been in pain before. I just don't understand that.

Please go to the ER.  They will give you pain meds and make sure the stone is not blocking and backing up urine into your kidney thereby poisoning your body (Septic Shock).  You'll feel much better after you visit the ER.

Ugh!  I'm sorry, but this just feels like unacceptable care.

I do hope that it passes soon.  Grateful for the update.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry you're still feeling so messed up.  Please go straight to the ER if it gets worse.  I hate seeing you in pain.

Sending hugs your way.
