Do I qualify as a LW???
Starting weight 243 and BMI of 35%, but lots of co-morbidities and my surgery is tomorrow. Not sure if I qualify as a light weight, and sounds kinda funny given the step I am taking to get this weight undercontrol...but looks like an awesome board if I do qualify.
Question, what should I take to the hospital to help out. RNY tomorrow. Thanks for any and all help.
List so far....chapstick, gas x desolving strips. Anyone have any other "must take" items besides the normal hospital stay stuff???

Welcome aboard and good luck tomorrow! You might want to take one of those cheap back scratchers. It'll help you reach stuff without having to move so much and excellent to scratch your back if needed.
You are most definitely a lightweight!

Oh thank you SO much....I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!! Went to a Halloween party last night...did not eat or drink anything excep****er the entire evening...everyone was asking if I was nervous or scared...and they all acted like I was CRAZY when I said "No, I am EXCITED"! Two weeks on my liquid diet I have lost 12 lbs, so I am more than crazy excited to know that is just the beginning on my way to being healthy.
I have to tell you, I have BIG plans for next Halloween...and it will be something wonderful in the way of a costume since I will be able to get something from the "I want it" area vs the "I fit it" group. :)
I have to laugh at your panty reference...I can't wait to get rid of these "big girls panties"....I saw some really pretty ones on sale at JC Penneys a few weeks ago and kept thinking soon I will be able to wear PRETTY vs INDUSTRIAL bras and panties....I see BAD things happening to my checking account as I get to into sizes that look nice!!! LOL

Well, first of all, good luck tomorrow. I am 6 days out and like many others, I wore the same thing to and from the hospital. I too was about 35-36 BMI, and wore a pair of jeans that were beginning to be loose. My suggestion is NOT to wear jeans unless they are stretch denim. My tummy was traumatised and swollen. Not to mention all those iv fluids that are pumped into you. So beware.
I brought the most basic of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner toothpaste and brush and a hair pick), underwear for all 3 days. I never got around to purchasing slippers and was just as happy with their hospital issue ugly socks. I only brought jammie bottoms and wore their goofy gown. I was more comfortable that way. And definitely bring your pillow. I always sleep better with my very comfy one from home. If bringing your cell phome, don't forget its charger! Hope this helps :))
