Holiday Challenge - Week of October 31st
Lee! I love that #3!
And YIPPPPEEEEEE!!!! 169! YOU MADE IT!
Claim away, honey. It's yours!
Just curious: where does 156 come from? Is that 100 down?
You are SO going to get there - can't wait!
As for me, even the thought of candy makes me sick. Dumpity dump! So that's no temptation.
You know how I'm doing with this challenge - I am sortof maniacally focused on it, actually. This suits me very well - it's good for me to compete against myself. I'm that person.

Rosa, when you made it to the 150's, I said DANG, I HAVE to get out of the 170's already. So consider yourself an inspiration. :)
I picked under 156 because my 100 pound goal is 149 and my Weigh****chers lifetime goal is 146. I want to be there by my one year surgery date if I can. I've let go of when it happens, just so it happens. Hopefully these new thyroid meds will kick in and help me out and I'll get even lower by New Years.
You are doing so awesome Rosa! You inspire all of us.

Hi Lee...this is a great thread...love it!! I'm glad you are feeling better too. I know how it feels to have the wind sucked from the sail and well, it feels wonderful to bounce back strong and proud!!!
Ok, my goals...hhhmmm, so many...
1. My first goal is to enjoy the holidays. I know that sounds like a durh but with stress and food around and everything...it is easy to get sucked into not enjoying the time of year.
2. To be anywhere from 125 - 130. I am 131 now so I hope to reach and maintain that range. To be able to claim that one has lost or maintained weight during the holidays is well a huge goal :)
3. To smile right along with you...we need to infect others with our smiles and charms. :)
4. To be close to paying off all my credit card bills. Next year around June I should be all done with paying down my accounts. So I guess getting closer is considered to be on schedule...lol
5. To treat myself like I know I should. You all know what I mean...right? Not worrying about things I cannot change...not always putting my needs at the bottom of the to-do-list...etc.
I am ok with the upcoming holidays I think. I am not a candy person so I can stare at a bucket of goodies (except smarties!!! love smarties!!!) and not worry. I am going to bake this holiday season sugar free, low fat stuff, goodies.

My Goal: To hit the century mark by the end of 2010.
In order to get there, I realized I needed to do these three things:
1. Stay away from simple carbs (crackers, chips, sweets)
2. Hit 100g plus of protein each day
3. Keep up the exercise program
#1 - I had done pretty good on staying away from the simple carbs until Friday. Since then, I have not done so well.
#2 - I always do pretty good on the protein. I'd say that some days I only got in around 80 though.
#3 - I have stuck to the exercise plan. Happy about that one!
I haven't lost a pound this week, so I'm going to try super hard to stay on plan for a week to see the difference it makes. It always makes the difference when I actually stay on track.

Great plan! Dump those simple carbs and stock up on better ones. I know you need some of those when you're running so much.
I have trouble getting over 80 grams of protein unless I add a lot of shakes. I generally just try to get in one a day. I keep saying I'm going to up the protein but I just don't seem to be getting it. Maybe this week I can try harder.
Congrats on your fabulous exercise program! I'm going to love seeing that century apple attached to your signature! Maybe get two because I hope to not be very far behind you. :)

This is a wonderful thread! I love reading about the positive goals. Here are mine.
1. I want to increase my exercise to 4-5 days per week.
2. I'd like to hit One-derland, but I have 34 pounds to go. I don't know that it is realistic to lose 34 pounds in 50 days. I'll adjust my goal and say...20 more pounds before Christmas.
3. I want to enjoy the holiday season. I'm going to try to keep my focus on the people in my life, not the food in my life.

YAY! These are great goals. You're so newly fresh from surgery and so early on your journey. I'd set goals but focus on just having clean eating habits, good exercise, hydration and vitamin routine. The rest if going to fall into place for you.
Stay focused on your goals to get you through the holiday celebrations. :)

Hi Lee, everyone.
Yawl sound awful good to me and so positive.
I ate 4 sm pieces of Halloween candy since Fri., something I don't usually do!!! Milky Ways I think. (Yum) Anyway, the scale was kind and I dropped a couple of lbs. over the weekend !!
1. Would like to weigh 154 by the 12/27/11. That would put me at a normal BMI on my birthday, I will be 60!!! Can't think of a better B'Day gift to myself!!! Wt 167, this a.m. That would be 13 lbs in two months. That might be a little ambitious, but don't think so. I have been loosing about 10 lbs a month, but wt. loss slowed down a little this past month. I'd be happy with 160 too!! Surely that IS doable.
2. I will resist binge eating of X-MAS candy. Will probably be making holiday candy with DD and 3 DGD in Dec. close to X-MAS. Will only allow myself a very few bites if any!!!! She usually sends some home, hoping DH will not object if we don't take any this yr (like that is going to happen!!) So I will just HAVE to resist (the Martha Washington's esp) !!! LOL
3. Stay on track, keep on keeping on...I can do this!! I can reach my goal!!
Yawl can too, and I would be happy to do anything to help any of you do that in any way I can.
Jane
