Good going. if you can make yourself also drink 20 oz on the way to work that would be 40 oz right there, plus the amount in your protein drinks. Not bad for work days and then increase it as you can,
Keep up the effortHolly

Thats a good idea as long as I pee as soon as I get there.  I made myself do a protein shake  while charting last night.  It took awhile but I finally got it down.

Great update!  It sounds like you are getting in a groove!

I agree with PunchyNerd....try some tea!  I do green tea ****d and hot).  I also do some diluted Gatorade 2....it has a neglible amount of sugar so try it out first to make sure it suits you ok!

Hang in there!  It will get better day by day!!

I developed a taste aversion to the G2.  I loved it for about 5 days post op.  My co-worker suggested splashing some V8 fruit juice in my water to make it go down easy.  Think I will try this as well, and a little should go along way.

I was so upset.  I stopped to get a McDonalds tea on the way to work.  .  I took a sip without noticing what it was.  My styrofoam cup was full of  my arch nemesis- Coke. That stuff just goes straight to my pleasure center in my brain.  Luckily, reality caught up with me a few minutes later with a painful burp.

I am alreayd craving it from one drink- Slippery slope that will always be for me.

To this day I can't drink plain water. My fridge is full of all kinds of random fluids, my favorite these days is water with oranges in it. I used to love propel but now not so much.

Careful with Coke! (Not that you don't know this). I just say that because even today at 2+ years out a half a glass of full sugar soda makes me crazy. I'm not a big soda drinker, but my daughter wanted to try this pumpkin soda... It started with a bad case of the shakes & went from there.

Sounds like you're doing great. You'll figure out what works for you.

When I am having trouble with fluid, I mix up a big glass, like 4 cups worth, of a crystal light that I really like and it seems to be gone quickly.  Is there a place you can keep a big water/drink container to go to during work.  I actually use a huge mug from a hospital visit years ago.  It's insulated and has a top so it works fine to carry around.

The only crystal light I can do is the pure fitness.  The others are still too sickening sweet for me.

I am technically not allowed food or drink in the nurses station- Thanks OSHA.  But I usually have something there while I am charting.

I need to invest in one of those mugs- thanks for the thought.  My co-worker bought me a great cup that actually lets me keep track of my intake, but it is not insulated.

I dreamed last night that I forgot and drank 2 big diet Cokes.  It was weird but I didn't wake up craving it, thankfully.  I have had some bad carbs this week and I have to go back on the wagon so adding another no-no would have been really bad.

I am really glad you are getting better.  I so admire the work you do.  I think I would love working with sick babies but I wasn't smart enough to get training for that.

Blessings,
Kat
