Fitness Challenge - October 30
Happy Saturday everyone!! I will try to get myself to the gym today. Otherwise, we'll count it as a "rest" day....lol
I have some shopping I want to accomplish before my trip on Monday. Also, I have the graduation from doggy training class today. She did so wonderful yesterday as I went and got my nails done. My salon allows dogs in there and well, she was perfectly quiet...didn't move around much and let all kinds of strangers around her and pet her. I was like...is this even my dog??
And I have to get things ready work related....sooooo.....
Whatcha doin' today?

Hi Diana!
I just wanted to take this moment to thank you fitness challenge ladies - you are my accountability on this board, and I take in all of your successes (and challenges) and try to learn from them. I've learned so much from you, and am so grateful!
You may've seen my other post that I reached 159 today! (I just weighed myself again to be sure - and it still says it!)
Anyway, last night's ballet class was totally different from the others I'd taken. It was an extra 30 minutes, which makes a difference because we spent a lot more time doing floor routines. The other classes were mostly toning (barre work) but this one was barre plus lots of actual dancing (read: cardio) with an interlude of stretching and pilates-type toning/core work. It was heavenly (in that painful, am-I-going-to-die sort of way.) I left the class wondering whether or not I'd be able to walk down the stairs, my body was so sore, and I loved it!
Well, thanks to the stretching, I'm not too sore today. But it will be a day of rest.
However (and I think I'm turning into Shannon now!) I don't like the idea of not moving my body! So I took Shelby on a nice long walk this morning. And I'll probably do the same again this evening. Until then, I'm just lounging around and waiting until my digestive system ends its random revolt. Not sure WHAT I did to it today, but it has me needing to be still (and near the powder room.)
Maybe that's the best thing I've gotten from this surgery - I've learned to actually LISTEN TO MY BODY. (Even if it's because the body gives me no choice anymore!)

Hello Team!
I haven't been posting here because I've been so discouraged about my back and not being able to do much exercise, but I miss you all!
I did manage to walk over 3 miles yesterday and again today. i have a long walk planned for tomorrow. I'm trying the three days in a row to see how I feel before going back to the chiropractor on Monday. I'm hopefully healing and will be cleared to do more than just flat walking.
Have a fun day everyone!

Lee - 3 miles of walking counts BIG TIME!
I do hope that your back starts cooperating so that you can do whatever you want with your exercise.
But in the meantime, stick around - the idea is to do the exercise that our bodies can tolerate, anyway. Diana's been at that for weeks after her surgery, Gina after hers too, Shannon with her hip, and you with your back, too!
Y'all are all incredible.
