Lightweights? Heave Since Childhood or Heavy Over Time in Adulthood?
I could have written the same post Lucy!
As a kid I was a skinny, really active girl...Then once I hit puberty (around 12-13) I literally began ballooning out! It was found out later I had PCOS but none the less, as an adult the weight just kept creeping up and up!
I briefly weighed around 125 when I was like 19-22 (Did a lot of dieting for that!) so I could join the military, but once I got pregnant with our son my metabolism went to hell in a handbasket and the weight began getting worse year after year.
I am so happy I had my WLS surgery and it has helped immensely getting my weight down and firing my metabolism...But I have been told I will ALWAYS have a slower than average metabolism, even post WLS. Makes it harder for me... I cannot go over 1000 cals a day or I will gain weight no matter what I weigh.
Good luck!
Warmly,.

I was thin my whole life, until I got pregnant with my first son, 18 years ago. I weighed 108 pounds in high school, about 115 in college. I gained about 87 pounds with my first son, never lost it, tried everything, and then gained another 35 with son #2. And, everytime I would lose some, and then regain, I'd gain a little bit more. So, enough yo-yo, it's time to get rid of it once and for all-

The sad thing is I thought I was fat all my life or would become fat but I wasn't fat and thought I was! Talk about poor self esteem! In high school I weighed upper 130's but I was 5'8". My friends weighed 100 but they were much shorter. I had some family members say I was overweight or to be careful that I could become overweight. My dad was overweight. I weighed 145 when I got married and in 4 years was up to 184. I joined WW and lost 45 pounds and became a lifetime member. Over the next 20 years I joined WW a million times and never made it to my goal again. When I went for my weight loss consultation weighed 238. I am grateful I qualified with a lower since I had a co-morbidity.
I was normal through childhood and early adulthood - but like others, thought I was fat. I was 132 through junior and high school - and I'm a very curvy type person - big chested (which I MISS now - lol). I also was told I was "pleasantly plump" - because I wasn't a stick thin person.
I had no problems maintaining the 132 until I got pregnant with my first child - then it went downhill after that - diet after diet... then the 2nd one... I lost down to 150 but was hard to maintain and gained it all plus some more back. I really have no idea when I weighed 125 in my life (7th grade maybe?)

I was fine until I hit puberty, thanks to PCOS, I didn't stand a chance.

Hi- chubby toddler, obese grade-school student. 252 in 8th grade, ate nothing but protein and water. down to 155-165 in high school. gained b ack with both pregnancies in my 20's, battled scale, lost 100 on WW, gained back, up to 252 again at age 50 and could not lose no matter what. RNY is saving my life and sanity. Now 165 and feel comfortable that this will be maintained at last! Jenny
I think it's going to vary.
I was tiny until about age 8-10. Somewhere in there I chunked up. I went on a diet at age 13 and that started a lifetime of yo-yo dieting. I didn't end up overweight until I graduated from college or MO until I was about 25.

I was a thin/gainly child, that thought I was overweight around 14 teen....but, just normal puberty filling out... It was with each pregnancy that I had more and more wt issues....I could lose it, but it always came back with it friends......more of them pounds...boy they like to stick together....as the years passed, it was harder and harder to lose and slower to lose.....along came the pounds sibling (co-morbidities) fought them and the pounds for around ten years and until I had VSG to help anililate (sp)......LOL
