Lightweights? Heave Since Childhood or Heavy Over Time in Adulthood?

Thought I would title a thread about this clip taken from my intro post:

Are we lightweights less likely to have been heavy all our lives?  I know that for me the weight crept on in adulthood "very slowly then all at once" so it feels really good to be getting my familiar self back!

I was always the smallest child in my class and at age 17 (after a bout with anorexia which was not recognized at the time), I weighed 86 pounds.  I stabilized at 95-98 until high school graduation.  After my 1st pregnancy I weighed 108, which seems to have been my "set point," until my last child was born 11 years after the first one.  It has been a battle since then.  I never got below 160 after the last child was born.

I was "normal" or underweight for 32 years.  I have now been overweight for 27 years.

5 weeks out from surgery I have lost around 18 pounds (the scale is yo-yoing 2-3 pounds this week).   This is the most I have lost in the lasat 27 years and though I am still down for the count around 9 p.m., it is getting better every day!

I started gaining weight around age 13.  It went downhill from there.  Cindy

I have definitely been heavy my whole life - at least since puberty. I am only 22 now, but I can remember going on Atkins for my bat-mitzvah at 13, Weigh****chers for various sweet 16s, crash dieting for prom, etc. I know that if I don't nip it in the bud NOW, it will only get out of hand as I get older, have children, metabolism slows down (if its possible to be any slower!), etc.

I was a thin child. Gangly even. I steadily  but slowly gained through puberty and into my adult years. I was a voluptuous hs senior at about 125 pounds. The weight just continued to climb. I have 4 kids and gained under 20 pounds during my pregnancies, but would keep weight in between each. Once I attempted successful dieting (where I actually achieved weightloss), I was never able to maintain a "normal" weight. It always creeps upward plus extra. In my most recent years my diets have escalated and my regain is fast and furious. I was getting so depressed at this new inability, I finally looked into WLS.

I was scrawny kid, filled out a little after puberty.  Once I started having kids it was a downhill slide to obesity.

I founght my weight through high school and college.  The battle was lost when I started having kids.  In the 80's I did WW and was WW of the year, going from 180 to 123 but when I had to stop running due to joint problems, it all came back and more.
