Fitness Challenge - October 29
Happy Friday LWs!!!
As we wrap up another wonderful week...what was the best fitness accomplishment? What are your goals for the weekend?
For me...the biggest accomplishment was getting back on track. My goals for this weekend is to workout each day for a minimum of 45 min moderate to high intensity on the elliptical.
Next week I will be in Vegas for business and I have selected a hotel with nice gym. So there is no excuse for me next week.
I hope ya'll have a fantabulously fun Friday!!!

Today is another day off for me...which we all know drives me nuts! I did run a bunch of errands with the baby and carried him everywhere (he is not little), so I have not just been sitting all day. Hopefully I get this hip thing figured out and weight maintenance so I can go back to at least 4 days a week!
Yep, time to maintain. (Although in my twisted brain I kind of think it would be cool to have a double-digit weight, like 99 pounds-still healthy BMI). I hope I can maintain and not rebound, but if I keep following the rules and working out hard and gain a few, that's what my body wants to do.
I'm having a consultation for breast lift, tummy tuck, and thigh and butt lift. I'm not looking to do anything right away, but I want a ball-park estimate and to see the computer imaging to see if it would be worth it. I would love to be able to wear a two piece swim suit because I have worked hard on my body. I can see the top of my 6 pack, but the bottom is covered by wrinkly skin.

Shelby and I did a light jog this morning - nothing serious, just a little warmup calorie burner. This is because I'm FINALLY GOING to Joffrey tonight for my ballet class at 7. And nothing's going to stop me this time!!!
I think that my biggest accomplishment is that I haven't let the schedule changes this week derail me. In my past life I probably would've just shrugged my shoulders and given up.
Not this time, babeeeees!
Now, if only I could find OTHER forms of exercise like Miss Jody, I'd be great!

You are doing excellent on getting back on track, Dianna!
I spent 40 minutes this morning doing weights and pilates.
For me, the biggest accomplishment this week was to get in three days of running in a row. Tomorrow, I am planning an 8 mile run and that will bring my total up to 20 miles this week. I feel good about that!
Vegas sounds so great.....be sure to get in some pool time too. :)

Diana, I feel a little discouraged, last Saturday I went to the gym and did great. I did cardio and resistance training and was really getting pumped. I was just getting into a great routine several weeks back then had my gallbladder out 1 month ago so I went back to the gym about 10 days ago. Well I guess I overdid it because the next day I had tendonitis when I went to the gym. The pain was so severe I had to stop walking on the treadmill and go home and take some medicine. My Dr told me to buy some arm splints which I did. A couple days later I started having muscle pains in my abdomen, I think because I worked out so hard. I have a hard time because I work 12 hour shifts (which translates into a 14 hour day counting the drive to work and the time for a lunch break which we don't get!). So on the days I work if I also work the next day I cannot go to the gym. So tomorrow I am going and I hope I don't overdo it again. I want so bad to burn off the rest of this fat and get my abdomen smaller. Any advise anyone?
I'm sorry! That sounds painful - gallballder is painful, anyway, so that just sounds like a bunch of different kinds of pain all at once! Hope it subsides soon.
Seems like you'll want to scale waaaaay down. Since you had the break, a lighter workout will feel like a workout anyway, so don't feel guilty. You have PLENTY of time to work back up to more resistance and intensity. There is absolutely no rush.
When I had my gallbladder out, I pushed it too hard once I started feeling better, and wound up harming one of my little lap wounds. That set me back, and it was all my fault for not taking it easy. At one month out, you're still healing. Be gentle to your body and it might just be gentle back.
Good luck!

I guess that is what I needed to hear, thank you. When I went for my 6 month post op appt I got all pumped up thinking I could really get into resistance training and maybe really getting thin. It started to seem more like reality than a dream. Well having the gallbladder out has kicked my butt. I just get a little worried, I know we aren't supposed to compare but some people have reached their goals by now (I am 7.5 months out), or are ahead of me. BooHoo, I know. I know I am doing well, actually fit into some size 8 pants this week and someone at work who is THIN called me "gaunt". Oh well. I appreciate the good advise, I will try to stay encouraged and scale it back!
