Chocolate 101: Size Matters!

Before you chew, know the difference between Snack Size, Fun Size, and Miniatures...

Miniatures/Minis are the square-shaped morsels -- those babies are each about a quarter of an ounce in weight.





A Snack Size or Fun Size chocolate treat weighs in at a little more than half an ounce and is usually about 2 inches long.




Not all size-categorized treats are created equal. We've found seemingly identical Fun Size bars on shelves -- same brand, same flavor -- with varying weights and calorie counts. If you want to be extra-careful, we recommend going by the higher set of stats listed below.

Happy Halloween!

I was a chocoholic before my surgery.  Seriously, I never met a candy bar I didnt like  lol.  Since my surgery I have absolute NO desire for candy bars. NONE!!!!   I made up Halloween treats the other day. Normally I would have ate enough "goodies" for 10 people.  But it didnt bother me at all.  I wasnt even tempted.  Loving my RNY, Cindy

Thanks for posting this.  My problem are the sugars and carbs.  So, for the most part I will have to steer clear of all of this yummies. 

Too close in to do any of those but it did have me head straight to my calcuim chocolate chews.

I'm working from home today to stay away from my office party.  I'm far enough out to do damage to an already incredibly slow weight loss.  I have no Halloween party plans and no children at home to bring home candy.  *whew*

I get the hungry girl emails too! I read this one very carefully this morning. With three kids in the house, there will be lots of candy. Plus, my kids aren't big candy eaters so it sits. DH loves it, and he is losing again after a huge rebound, so we will be promptly throwing it away. (He didn't have surgery, but followed my diet and lost over 100 pounds, got to his goal and started eating like a horse lol).

There is also a local dentist that buys kids candy for $1 a pound. Might ask the kids if they want to do that this year.

what a good idea this year i tolod dh to buy the lil bags of cheese curls and pretzels so no chocolate candy in the house only thing chocolate is my protein bars period lolol

I can leave the candy alone, but chips are my weakness.
