What is typical weight loss for lightweights???
We lose the weight we need to lose at the same speed as heavier folks, we just have less to lose and it takes us less over all time to do it. We hit normal BMI in about 6 months or so, and then just like them, our weight lose slows until we hit mid normal BMI or so. All this about LWs losing slower is some weird myth that won't go away. Of course there are exceptions to this, it's just what I experienced and saw many other LWs experience as well. My record is below. I lost 8 pounds pre-op from 195 and am 5'1" tall. So, I hit normal BMI in 5 months and mid-normal BMI in 11 months.

I had 108.5 to my surgeon's goal. I had lost 14.5 of this prior to surgery. It took me about 13-14 months. I am 56 and had been on every diet/weight loss scheme there has ever been so I'm pretty sure my metabolism was shot.
I am still dropping weight, it is just slower now.
The weight loss was pretty quick the first 6-7 months and then for me it slowed down some.
We are all different. Don't get stressed out if you don't lose like everyone else, just keep plugging away!!
Good luck.

Lots of folks on this board have lost 100 lbs. Nope, don't unusally loose any slower. I have been adveraging about 10 lb wt loss a month, though I expect it to slow this month...I am 6 almost 6 months out and have lost 70 lbs, 50 lbs from surg. Most of us trying to get to somewhere within nl BMI, lower, mid or high BMI, depends on what you want to do and if your body will coorporate. IF you follow your plan, you should be able to do it too!!! Good luck reaching your personal goal!!!!
I am 13.5 mos out and have lost a total to date of 113 lbs including the 40 I lost prior to surgery.
I started out at 246 and on my surgery date I was 204. I dont want to lose anymore but I have been slowly dropping down even more. I bob for a while them drop 3-4 lbs then bob for a while.
It seemed slower to me because those with lots to lose could drop 40-60 lbs in the first months. Not so with me.

You wont neccesarily lose slower--it just might not seem as fast as someone who has twice as much to lose as you (i.e. they might lose 100 pounds in 6 months but need to lose 200 and you'll lose 100 in a year).
I really like this tracking website the estimate my percentage of extra weight loss as well as reset my goal weights for me as time goes on and my EWL% changes.

After you fill in the information, click 'Create Report'---very cool :)
Also, you and I have very similiar starting weights so you can look at my ticker for an idea of weightloss, keeping in mind the average loss for VSG is 15-20 in the first month then 5-10 for each month following. I started exercising seriously at about 4-5 months out and it definitely increased my loss whereas some folks say weightloss slows down around the 6 month mark.
I am so excited for your surgery!!!! My sister is getting sleeved the day after you--cool, huh?! I know you've been waiting a long time for this!
