What are you celebrating today???
Ooh! I'll play!
Here's my list of goals, copied and pasted from a similar thread I participated in back in February, about a month post-op. It's neat to see how many of these things I can check off now!
- To not feel like I have an inner tube around my neck and around the middle of me. CHECK!
- To be able to sit for more than 15 minutes without my tailbone hurting because of the weight on it. CHECK!
- To be able to breathe when I bend over to tie my shoes. CHECK!
- I want my feet not to hurt after working all day (in good supportive athletic shoes). CHECK!
- To be able to go up and down a flight of stairs without every step hurting my knees. CHECK!
- To not have to take Pepcid every night so I don't wake up choking on stomach acid. CHECK!
- To sleep through the night without waking five or more times either with acid, having to pee, or just being uncomfortable. CHECK!
- To not have to worry about developing high blood pressure or diabetes. CHECK!
- To not have to worry about my stomach or thighs getting in the way of things when I'm under the sheets with my hubby. CHECK!
- To move freely and unencumbered. CHECK!
- I want to run at least a 5k by this fall. CHECK...YAY!!
- To wear a nice pair of jeans and have people notice my butt--not because it's the size of a barn, but because it's peachy! CHECK!
- To have a bigger variety of shoes that don't cost a fortune to fit my current size 7 4Es. (They're wide, but now they're extra extra wide) CHECK!
- I want one pair of those shoes to be a really ****ty-looking pair of heels, to be worn with the nice jeans. CHECK!
- To be able to get into my husband's pants... literally. CHECK!
- To be able to get into our backyard pool withou****ching out the windows for 5 minutes first to make sure none of the neighbors are outside or at their windows to see me. CHECK!
- I want to wear a cute bikini top with a pair of board shorts ('cause these thighs ain't ever gonna be pretty). kinda..short tankini top and board shorts, bikini top next summer!
- Mostly I just want to be free and comfortable with myself! CHECK!!
Just about keeled over when I checked all those things off the other day. I also celebrate the fact that I only have 14 more lbs. to reach my original goal, and that the next 12-15 bonus lbs after that are completely realistic and do-able! Had to take my wedding rings off the other day... they're getting loose enough to make me nervous and if I didn't take them off, they'd surely start falling off in the next month or two. I feel great, we're getting a new car this afternoon, life is all-around awesome!

I'm still at the beginning of my journey so the celebrations aren't that many. I'm pretty happy eating a meal that doesn't upset my pouch.
This morning I put on a shirt I hadn't worn in a while. It looked good. Granted, I'm in still the 230's, but it looked good and much better than the last time I wore it. The moment was really about me recognizing the changes in my body. My husband overheard me talking to the mirror. He said, "Of course it looks good. You've lost a small child off your ass. You are doing great."
That was my celebration this morning. You have to celebrate the small victories on the journey. Don't just wait until the end.
I'm traveling for business next week. I'm excited about not dreading the airline seats.

Great posts!! I love hearing about everybodies victories. It's making it hard for me to think of my own, but I'll try.
1. Being able to cross my legs!!!! (this one was huge for me)
2. Wearing a size 1 jacket from Chico's, and down to size 2 pants...
3. Looking hot (so I'm told...esp by DH)
4. General joint pains gone
5. Able to get out of a chair or the car without having to push off.
6. Knowing I can succeed with this and maintain, the pouch works!!! (even for me)
7. Not being embarrased by my size, and if fact being proud of the way I look.
8. Not shopping the plus stores anymore
9. Hugh tax write offs, giving my too big clothes away to the local charities
10. Finding a GREAT LW board as my support group!!
Well I thought of more than I thought I would, maybe there are even more. Enjoying the tread, thanks.

Hello everyone! I am not too far out on my journey either but I do have a couple of small things to celebrate!
First- this is my 7th week from surgery and just started eating meat! Yay!
Second -I am down exactly 40lbs.
Third -I just got into a pair of jeans that are 2 sizes smaller than where I started! YAY!
Fourth- so far so good with what I have eaten...only got sick one time..but I think it was from not going to the potty regularly..not dumping.(sorry if is TMI).
Thanks Kim

Wonderful post! i had to read all of them before I could really say anything that I would celebrate.
I am 2 months out and have not quite lost 30 pounds and am in my first stall but have found a few things to celebrate.
Here's my list....
I can cross my legs!
I can sit on the sidewalk AND get back up!
When on the side walk I can pull my legs up and wrap my arms around my legs!\
Can put on shirts now with out " stretching" them to fit over my mid section!
I can walk UP and DOWN the stairs without having an asthma attack!
I can tie my shoes, can see my feet!
Can stand without my legs hurting!
Can go without taking meds for multiple reasons and know I dont need them anymore!
I know there are alot more but this is all I can think of right off the bat.

Great post. Lots of things to give thanks about and celebrate
That I had the surgery and have had no complications.
So far, everything I have eaten has agreed with my pouch.
I'm enjoying all the positive responses to my loss.
Finding wonderful bargins in the thrift stores.
Being amazed, at least weekly, of my changing size when I put on my clothes.
Being released to play with my ponies again, once it stops raining.
Having a wonderfully supportive family and staff.
Being off my Cpac and cholesteral meds
Having no hunger, head or real
