ABC news story re VSG
I guess this aired last night -- I missed it. It's great to see VSG getting some exposure. I'm amazed that a surgeon does this as an out-patient procedure. Also amazed that Dr. Treen quotes $12k. He's from Louisiana - anybody heard of him???
Not amazed by the viewer comments. Some people are just idiots.

Glad someone mentioned this...it was really difficult to watch..first of all they introduced a woman who was struggling with weight and she was talking about how she has battled weight issues her whole life...then the announcer says..."so ----------decided to give up dieting and have weight loss surgery"...yeah...like we DON"T DIET !!!!!!.....it's really frustrating...and then this surgeon does outpatient sleeves....is he out of his mind?....the first 24 hours are the most crucial...for leaks and blood clots..... the reason he does this is the hospital stay is where the money comes in....my doctor fee was 6 thousand...the anesthesiologist was 1 thousand...( this for the guy who keeps you alive!!! and breathing) and the hospital was 10 thousand...but that being said the hospital stay is terribly important..it's malpractice to send people home...so there will be deaths from the sleeve and the sleeve will be deemed dangerous...watch and see....anyhow it's a start....stay tuned...if Dr Treen charges 12 k without hospital stay then he's raking in the bucks...twice what most surgeons make..
I would be curious to see what his record looks like in 3 years...in terms of leaks...deaths etc...
