Good Morning. Any lurkers out there?
Hi everyone! I'm Alyssa... 22 years old from CT (NJ originally), in the process or doing research and going to meet a few doctors! I have been overweight my entire life... The first diet I remember, I was 12. As quite a few of you know, I am ready to take CONTROL of my life and be happy and healthy I have posted two topics on here and you ladies have been incredible at getting back to me and supporting me! Thank you!!!
Hi, I'm Kim. I don't think I'm a lurker exactly, but I don't post here a lot. I do come here most days, and soak it all up. At this point I don't have tons of issues, but closer to surgery, you'll be hearing from me a lot.
I'm married, have an adult step daughter, and now a granddaugher through her. Believe me, it's strange becoming a grandma without passing the "mom" square first!
On the professional front, I'm a finanacial analyst. I'm on vacation this week; so I'll have more time to be here this week.

Hi Gina and everyone.
My name is Linda and I love the LW Boards!! This is my only support group because I live 4 hours away from my surgeon.
I have been married for 32+ years. I have a 31 year old daughter and a 27 year old son. Both are married and both have daughters. My two granddaughters were born 1 week apart and are 20 months old. I love being a grandma!!
WLS was one of the best decisions I ever made. I am very happy with my surgery.

Hi! My name is Tiffany and I have been fighting the losing battle for most of my 41 years. Up and down, up and down. I now have a BMI of 36 and am in the beginning stagings of the process. I had a procedure done last year as part of a research tril called POSE. It's essentially an endoscopic procedure that was being done as a revision for RNY'ers with stretched pouches but it's now being done as a primary procedure for those with lower BMI. I initially had some restriction for the first few months but then not so much...got discouraged...you know the story. At any rate, my chosen surgeon wants the surgical notes from that procedure so has has some idea of what was done. I've also provided him with a copy of my 1 year post op upper gi. I can't get an appointment until after he gets and reviews the notes so hopefully in the next two weeks. I've decided on the VSG as long my doc feels its doable with my current hardware. I'd rather have it removed anyway. The rerouting scares me more but honestly, if he told me that RNY was my only option, I would sign the consent on the spot.
I am a NICU nurse in Charlotte, NC where I live with my hubby and our 2 1/2 yo daughter.
I was directed to this website by a coworker who had a bypass about 3 years ago. I lurked for a while but when I found that I was not fat or sick enough for surgery, I sort of slunk back to my life, then had the POSE and now that I'm completely sick and tired of myself this way, am back.
I've been lurking and psting some questions for about a week or so now and between the Lightweights forum and the VSG forum, I cannot imagine a better place for support on this journey.
I want to thank everyone for being so open, honest and supportive. This truly feels like a safe place to share.

Hey everyone, my name is John and I'm 5 months out today from RNY. It was one of the best decisions of my life. I'm down 111 lbs from my highest weight or about 81 since surgery (my highest was 280).
I lurk here maybe about 80% of the time and every so often jump in with a question or two. I think I'm one of the few guys over in these parts.
This is the first place I hit when I log into OH and it's been a great support since I found it right before my surgery.
