Hi Everyone!

I'm Lee.  I came to the LW board before my Sleeve surgery in February and found so much great information here as well as a very caring, supportive group of people.  I occasionally venture to the VSG forum to see what's going on, but I call LW's my support team and home.

I  turned 60 this month. Other than a short time in my early 20's before and after Zach was born, I've been chubby or fat, then obese and morbidly obese,  since I was 7.   I live in the SF Bay Area.  I live alone and have a 36 year old son Zach that lives in NYC.  My passion is  traveling and my obsession is getting to goal.

I hope that if you're lurking, you'll come out and play with us.  :)

I am a nurse, and DH and I love to play duplicate bridge. We have 2DDs and 6DGC.

Hi I am Sandy and just over a year out from my VSG.  I got to goal of 153, in 10 months and decided to take off another 8 lbs, which is very slowly coming off.

I have been happily married for 26 years and have an almost 22 yo son and an 18 yo daughter both in university this year and I have just become an "empty nester".

Welcome to all the newbies and lurkers, we don't bite, come on out and play!

Gina- I think the lightweight board is one of the friendliest on OH.

My name is Sharon, I am set to have my sleeve on 12/13/10.  I started this journey six months ago and am self pay so going to Mexico.  I am a nurse practitioner/nurse midwife, have a great DH, 3 DS and 1 DD.  2 brand new (7month old) DGS's.  I love the way that everyone is so supportive and protective of each other on this site, not clique at all.  I had my first child at 16 second at 19 and then stopped smoking, I am also a volume eater , so all of this combined has lead to my obesity.  I refuse to do yet another diet that will fail in the long run, so I patiently await Dec when I get my tool.  For all of the Vets you are an inspiration one and all.

Hi, my name is Laura. I am 3 months post op from a revision from a DS. I feel like the only person to ever fail from a DS. I never changed my eating habits and gained 100 lbs. I also had chronic diarrhea and gas and my quality of life was terrible. I had my common channel lengthened and my stomach made smaller. I have lost nearly 50 lbs. I find that as long as I don't eat simple carbs I am ok. I'm afraid to eat them because if I do I won't stop. I can't do moderation with them. I tried, believe me. I am a carb addict and a volume eater.
I have 5 kids and 4 granddaughters. And 4 dogs that run my life. Don't aske me how I got 4 dogs. I started out with 2 chihuahuas that we had for 10 and 11 years. Last year they had puppies (surprise) and we decided to keep one since they would be the last puppies they had. I gave my daughter one of the puppies. Well she moved back home with the puppie so now there are 4. My oldest, J.J. was diagnosed with CHF and the vet told me that he only had about a year. I am praying he is wrong.
Anyway, sorry for the book.

Hi Everyone,

I'm Yasmeen, I've been seriously overweight since I was 5.  Went on my first diet at 8 and it's been downhill from then on with years of yo-you dieting.

I managed to lose significant amounts of weight and keep it off for a few years at a time, but invariably it always came back plus more.

i finally decided to look into bypass surgery after my second aunt had it done (we have an obese family.)  It was the best decision I ever made, surgery was a breeze and no major issues that can't be dealt with.

I have learned that lamb is NOT my friend, holy gall bladder attack!  And I'm dealing with a case of foot drop that is getting better with mega B Complex supplementation.

I'm 8.5 months out from surgery and almost to my goal of 120, I may go a bit lower depending how I feel/look when I get there but in the past it was a good weight for me on a 5"6" frame.
