Update on Me and Nancee
I am in Mexicali and had my surery yesterday morning! It was an uneventful surgery. I am off the IV because it moved I guess and they tried in my second hand and could not get the vein. so I am trying to get in all the liquids. It's hard though...I take a sip and wait 3minutes and then take another. The gas pain has been the worst part. But finally this evening it has started to pass. I did not have the spinal block. Dr. Aceves said that with some patients they have seen that with the spinal block that some people with a drop in blood pressure, so I did not have one. I think that the reason I had problems with my IV is because the night nurse (norma) checked my pressure on the same arm as my IV (I'm not a nurse, but it seemed odd to me). Today I have had Lourdes most of the day as she only works weekends (12 hour shifts) and holidays. Also I had Dina for a little while yesterday, but I was so out of it yesterday!
Nancee left this morning. I can't remember if she come to the LW board or not, but she should be pretty close to home now. She is from Tulsa!
Ok, time to sip my orange gatorade and then walk a few laps. We walk the bottom floor and then take two laps around the back parking lot (ER side)
Keep swinging the lizards please...I have had a little congestion and do not want it to get worse because it is painfl to cough!!

Woohoo!!! Welcome to the loser's bench!!! You sound like you know what you're doing...walk, sip, rest...repeat. I'm not a nurse either, but I think you're right about not taking your bp in the same arm as your iv. Take care of yourself, watch that cough and keep us updated.

Robin, I'm so glad that you checked in and that you're doing ok. Swinging lizards that the congestion clears up quickly. Do you have one of those spirometer contraptions that help keep your lungs working properly?
