Holiday Challenge - Week 1 -Oct 24th
Hi Sandi,
I've joined WW three other times. The program never really worked for me, even staying within points religiously I only shed 1 pound a month. I decided to go back last month when they were offering a buy 1, get 1 month free special. I have a meeting within a mile of my house that meets at 6pm on Mondays with a leader that I think is great because he talks about the mind/heart connection to eating.
I decided to go back because I can use all the help I can get. I want a place that I have to go weigh in and be accountable once I'm at goal. I have never come close to Lifetime and that's a current goal of mine. To get there and stay there.
I have not talked about my WLS. The world still thinks it's an easy way out, for the most part. Since I've been gone for the last 70 pounds and 1.5 years, they don't have a clue how I did it. This is a new group for me so I don't know any of the people. WW is there for support and that's what I go for. I eat lunch daily with a WW leader and she said that she doesn't think I need to talk about the surgery, so I don't.

That's what I was thinking too, I would like to go for the accountability. I made it to goal 21 years ago, LOL by losing from 185 to 143. When I had my WLS 20 years later I weighed 238 and I cannot tell you how many times I joined. I think I will go back but never tell them I had WLS, like you said I don't think the world gets it. But its been a year since I went it is possible I lost this without surgery. I don't have to pay a fee to rejoin and I think I will make my new goal what I weigh now so I don't have to pay. Thanks for the advise!
Sandi, tonight I had to pick my goal weight at WW. The range is 117 - 146 so I of course said, 146!
I weight at 6pm, fully clothed, so I'm always up when I weigh there. At home I was 170, on the WW scale 173 so I still have a long ways to go, but I'm getting there. Tonight I got my 75 lb weight loss thingy so that felt like a great accomplishment.

Thank you for this great post Lee!
My goals for January 1st, 2011:
1) Reach my weight loss goal of 90-100 pounds (I am waiting to see how I look, either are within a normal BMI)......... that means 10 to 20 more pounds.
2) Keep my membership at Gym and do cardio and resistance training.
3) Continue to post on LW board.

Ok Lee - I'll play.
As most know I've been struggling with a few pounds - bouncing up and down...
I have been 125 now for a week or so - so I feel I have been somewhat successful... but
With that said - I would like to get back down to 122 (lower if I can do it). While that is ONLY 3 pounds, its a very difficult thing to do at this point of my journey.
I have already cut out almost ALL simple carbs. I've never been a sweet eater, so that's not going to be an issue with me, as I do dump-- anyway, I keep telling myself that - LOL.
My challenge is cutting out my adult beverages, or getting them to a reasonable level. That is the demon I've been fighting lately and KNOW its the reason I gained, and the reason I'm not losing those 3-5 lbs.
My New Years goal will be to hit 122. Actually, my New Years Goal will be to hit 122 before then, and to maintain it after I do.

Jody, that's great that you're back to your fighting weight of 125. Congratulations! I bet you can get back down those other 3 pounds. You'll feel so great about it when you do. I understand how much more difficult it gets when you are already at a great weight. We're all here to cheer you on!

Lee, good idea for a post. I have been thinking about this for a long time. What is my goal for my b'day...12/27??? I'll be 60!!! I'm still on the fense about my eventual wt goal, as you know. I dropped 2 lbs since we talked...so down to 168, yeah!!! Coming off a 2 wk stall!!!! I guess I'm gonna set a goal of 160, that should be doable...maybe even modest....Again just not sure if I want to loose anymore weight. But I'm gonna keep doing what I am doing, and see where it takes me. My highest nl BMI is 154...maybe I will shoot for that or 150. See my NP/NUT next Tues and will get their input, and revise my goals next week if I need to. I have been adveraging about 10 lb loss per month, but now starting to get monthly stalls, so wt. loss may slow. 154 by 1/1 might even be realistic...that would be 7 lbs a month. I just don't know...but I want to join in and will follow along.
Wishing us all the best of luck sticking to our guns and attaining our New Years Day goals.
