Holiday Challenge - Week 1 -Oct 24th
I tried on a pair of Ralph Lauren size 12 jeans at a thrift shop on Saturday. I would have bought them except they were a little short and we're going into rainy weather. They went up, zipped and buttoned with no problem but were too tight on my big tushie to wear right away.
By the end of the year I want to be wearing a size 10 in jeans, even if I can't leave the house in them, because that will give me hope that I'll be a single digit when I get to goal. :)

"Even if I can't leave the house in them"?
That's hilarious, Lee! And I can totally relate.
Another trick I've tried is that I go and try on clothes in a size 8. They're really too tight to wear, but not too tight to try on! That way, I can say to myself "I COULD wear a size 8, I'm just wearing a 10 because they're more comfortable." ;) Which is technically true...but...
wouldn't leave the house in them, either! Not if I had any plans to sit down at any point...
I highly encourage this practice. It's good for the psyche. Next thing we know, I'll be doing this with a size 6 and wearing the 8s because they're "more comfortable". Maybe that's my Thanksgiving challenge...

I like the way you think! A friend gave me two pairs of size 10 that she wore during her losing phase. I occasionally try them on. I can get them up my legs but when they get to my tushie, well just forgetaboutit. :)
Edited: This was in response to Rosa talking about trying on smaller size jeans. Don't know how it got up here!

Hi Lee, perfect challenge for me right now too! I'm going to follow your idea and post my personal challenge in my signature.
By December 31, 2010, I will do my best to get to goal. It might be tough to lose 14 pounds in two months, but I am going to give it a go! I am going to be hitting the training hard to be ready for another 1/2 marathon in January.
I know I will need to do a couple of things to reach this goal:
1. Stay away from simple carbs (crackers, chips, sweets)
2. Hit 100g plus of protein each day
3. Keep up the exercise program
I look forward to the challenge!

1. Stay away from simple carbs - ok, me too!
2. Hit 100g plus of protein each day - ok, I'm going to give it a shot. I guess that means I'm going to get friendlier with protein shakes.
3. Keep up the exercise program - I'm with you on this one as soon as my back heals from my fall in New Orleans. That said, I've been slacking on my walking which I can do right now.
I'm glad we're doing this together. You have great goals! I think 14 pounds is a lot as well but that's where I've set my challenge to really push myself.

I want in but I have no idea right now as to a goal for 1-1-11. My losing is so variable at this point that it is hard to come up with a number. I'm foating at 178 to 179 for the last few days and going down much slower than in the past. 2 months, hummmm. Ok, 167 or less at New Years. That should be realistic but a good goal to shoot for.

Price, you're still fresh out from surgery so that goal should be very attainable for you. You've been doing a great job with your recovery. I think it's important to be realistic, or else it just becomes another diet that we've "failed" at. That's just too familiar to me. I'm just thinking about this as challenging myself. :)

Lee, I wanted to ask you.........
I saw as one of your goals you still weigh in at WW.
I am a lifetime member and think it is a wonderful program, I always gained my weight back but that was my weakness, not a flaw in their program. I have been thinking I would like to go back for the support etc but didn't know how I would be welcomed post WLS, or do I just not say anything?
