My tummy showed me WHO was boss.. and I'm grateful

So, I stopped at the local semi-gourmet take-out on the way home last night.  Got salmon with crawfish julienne sauce (good protein) and some sides for the hubby.  But.... they add a bread choice and I couldn't resist adding the jalapeno corn muffin (I know, I know!).  I planned to and did eat only a teeny, tiny bite (about the size of the end of my pinkie).

You can guess the ending.... up it came.  First upchuck since surgery and my tummy moaned at me... it sounded very much like "I know you are NOT that stupid... what WERE you thinking?"  Lesson learned.

I have had many experiences like that. I am starting to jot down everything that makes me gag and up chuck... Glad you learned your lesson.

yep - amazing how it can put us in our places, huh?

You will probably be able to eat it later out - but much later out.  It could have been the jalapenos that didn't agree with you....  or perhaps it was the mixture of all of it...

When you try new foods, they recommend you try one at a time, so you know exactly how it will affect you, and if it bothers you, you'll know which one is the offender.

I am just the opposite.  I have tried small amounts of bread, a bit here or there of a brownie, cheesecake, cookie, etc and so far nothing bad.  I am not sure if that is a good thing though.  Sometimes I wi**** had a bad effect when I did try bad stuff so that I wouldn't try it.  I never over do it though and try very small bites.  It does help to not make me feel aweful when I really want something.

At first I never tested the waters with starchy stuff. Now I do eat bread, but only a little and only whole grain. I eat a little bit of white rice, etc. But not too often.

Oh yeah, been there, done that.  For me it's about that one bite too many.  It just keeps saying hello, over and over again until I kiss the porcelin Goddess and say g'bye to it.

I seem to be stubborn and don't learn my lessons well enough because I've done it a few times.
