Its Friday Lightweights - time for another just for fun post.  Everyone is welcome to join in....... Pre-ops, Post-ops, lurkers.

1.  Whats your favorite fruit/ veggie?

2.  Any challenges this week?

3.  Any victories this week?

4.  Plans for the weekend?

Cant wait to see everyone's answers!   Cindy

1.  Whats your favorite fruit/ veggie?  Pre-op I loved almost all fruits.  I would say my top 3 would be watermelon, strawberries, and honeydew.   My fav pre-op veggies was potatoes (mashed and swimming in gravy  lol), corn, & red beets.   Post op I dont eat as many fruits/veggies only because I dont have room in my pouch after I eat my proteins.  I was on a watermelon kick for awhile this summer.  I was eating it everyday for a snack.  My latest fruit kick in a green granny smith apple

2.  Any challenges this week?   2 teens!  need I say more?!  lol

3.  Any victories this week?  Yes, the scale finally started moving again.  I dont know if its because they adjusted my synthroid level or what, but Im happy   :)

4.  Plans for the weekend?  Probably not much. Hubby had knee surgery yesterday. He's off work for 2-6 weeks. I will probably be fricken nuts by the time he goes back to work  lol

 1.  Whats your favorite fruit/ veggie?

Lately, my fav fruit has been grapes.  Over the summer (when they were in season) it was peaches.  I eat whatever veggie's around, can't say that I have a fav.

2.  Any challenges this week?

Working too much

3.  Any victories this week?

Made it to the 160s!  And probably surpassed the level of my ballet class - looking for a new one now.

4.  Plans for the weekend?

Today, seeing my niece.
Tonight - zumba and pole dancing classes, then going out with the ladies.  Working for the rest of the weekend...

Toni - I decided I'm not brave enough for the pole class yet.  But one of these days...

So I'll just do the zumba.  The classes are at Shockra studio on E. 28th.  You should check them out!

Hey Cindy!!

1.  Whats your favorite fruit/ veggie?  I don't eat a lot of fruits or veggies, but if I were to buy some at the store, it would probably be green seedless grapes.  I was on a watermelon kick last summer and was dumping on it - bummer!  Veggies:  I love pickled beets but hardly ever eat them - don't know why not either - they're good for me!  But its usually green beans, or sauteed zucchini - yum!

2.  Any challenges this week?  Challenge was making it to Friday... and dealing with fallout from ex-BF...

3.  Any victories this week?  Making it to Friday?  LOL - had my 2 year surgiversary and feel like I'm a success (so far!).

4.  Plans for the weekend?  Lots!  Going to a Hustle/ballroom dancing class that's also a "dress up" for Halloween, then tomorrow night going to a Halloween party.  May get off my lazy butt and go to Zumba tomorrow morning.  Sunday may go to a meeting in a town an hr from here.

Sounds like fun!
1. favorite fruit/veggie - pre-op, my favorite fruit was apples. However, Maleficent the pouch does not care for them now. But she loves strawberries, canteloupe, honeydew, cherries, grapes, bananas, peaches... everything else. I'm just enjoying them all! Pre-op my favorite veggie was fresh grilled sweet corn dripping in butter and salt. Currently, it's actually sugar snap peas. I find I prefer raw veggies these days, and really don't care for the cooked ones. But I did eat acorn squash last week, and enjoyed it - pre-op I gagged on it every time. So tastes to change, and in a good way!

2. challenges this week - all the work chaos. Every time I try to work with a kid, I get called to a meeting at another school or someone takes the space I need, so I'm behind the 8-ball on assessments in 2 buildings. Oy!

3. maintaining my weight! I've been in the same 2 pound range for 3 weeks now! Additionally, I've got my plastics scheduled: arms, breast reduction and lift, and circumferential lower body lift for 2 days before winter break so that I can (I hope!) go back with everyone else right after New Year's! If, after it's all healed and settling well I decide I want implants or still need a thigh lift, we'll do that at spring break.

4. going out with friends for dinner tomorrow night - haven't seen them in ages, so it'll be fun. Delivering wood all day tomorrow (good cardio and strength - tossing firewood, carrying firewood, stacking firewood...). Then just housework and laundry on Sunday.

#3 my dear - are you kidding????  I went in for a consult for a LBL and he told me 6 weeks off - no ifs ands or buts about it.... and that wasn't with any other procedure!!

I took 4 weeks off for my TT.... its major major surgery - don't rush yourself.  The one thing I had to remind myself is it ISN'T a lap procedure (which all my other surgeries were)... very different recovery.

Where are you getting it done at?

Thanks for the concern Jody.  I did check with a couple other people who had this done by this group, and the time off was between 2 and 3 weeks if it is skin only with no vertical cut, which mine is.  However, that's just the plan.  Backup plan is that as long as I go in for the first or second day back from winter break, I can then take off a couple more days each week without accessing FMLA.  I work 2 miles from home and can arrange car pooling if necessary, and can do some work from home as well as some flex scheduling.  I've already arranged for a couple of other psychs to take my meetings if I'm not back.

So the plan is 2-2 1/2 weeks, but if it's more, I'll take the time I need.  I promise to not be stupid about it - but I do want to be back at work as soon as I responsibly can.

I'm getting it done at Evanston Hospital, just north of Chicago, through Northshore University plastics.  It'll be tag-team, with the guy that specializes in breast reconstruction doing the BR/BL, and his partner who handles the WLS patients doing the circumferential.
