Oy...I saw my surgeon yesterday...six month check up...lost 58 pounds...his scale seems like it's a bit higher than mine...he has me at 152...I have me at 148...anyhow...he was strict with me and said he wants me to lose 10 pounds by christmas...it's the last 10 for me as I'm 5' 8" and 140 is going to be very lean for me...I have lots of muscle from years of weight training...anyhow...I have been a bit relaxed with my food lately...by relaxed I mean I've been eating lollypops and jelly beans and
lots of nuts...but I do work out and have not gained weight...but I have to get back into losing mode and get these last 10 pounds off...I feel good but he told me that if I don't lose it now I won't do it and it will only get harder....so I was kinda frustrated and mad because I don't want to work anymore...
I was enjoying getting a bit lax and adding some carbs in....even though they were not  good carbs..he wants me to go back to protein...protein...protein....green veggies...and "some " fruit...
ggrrrrr....So back to basics for me...today was my first day and it was ok but I felt like I was dieting again and more restricted...but to be honnest I just want this to end...I want to get the weight off and focus on maintenance which won't be easy since I only know how to binge or diet...40 years of it...
LOL...so that's my ramble for today...buckle down and do it...10 pounds by christmas and then onto
2011 maintenance and at goal....wish me luck...SEAVIEW

Definitely wishing you luck. You can do it. I have let a few things back into my diet and love it as well. I work out really hard, and I feel like I deserve a snac****asionally.

Over on the VSG Forum I set up a Personal Challenge for myself and others and here is what happened in that 14 days:
-  I am 16 months out
-  Below goal
-  45 years old
-  wanted to maintain lower, after maintaining for awhile around 145 - 150 lbs
-  set up the challenge, and even thought I am so far out, and below goal, when I focused.... I lost over 6 lbs in 14 days.  Not bad eh?
-  I basically did Atkin's for those 14 Days and it worked great.
-  I am doing the 14 Days one more time and then I am done, and I will maintain again under 145 lbs for life
-  I also put the scale away for those 14 das, as hard as it was, it worked great

Anyway, I HATE dieting also, but it seems that is what is necessary to get the weight off quickly, maintaining is so much more fun...

I did not like maintaining at my higher range, from 148 - 150...

I really liked maintaining around 145 lbs...

So I am going low enought hat I maintain under 145 lbs for life... I feel GOOD here!!

Good luck with your 10 lbs, it is doable, but you may have to diet one last time!

Nuts get me  every time  lol.....  heres  a litel tip to get rid ofthose pesky nut cravings .... flaxseed oil and evening primrose oil capsules  .

Yes they really DO work  and  give U great hair  too   ( and help  with weight loss )  .  The body does need SOME oil.. specifically THESE oils ... so giving it what it actually needs  means  it wont grab the high calorie extras it doesnt ...

good luck   Hun  !

Thanks so much for the encouragement and support...It seems like it would be doable...at least yesterday was...so I'm on my way...no more pesky nuts..although they call me....in the evening...
I will get rid of them today...yes it's atkins for me...all the protein I can fit in and under 40 carbs...
I will keep you guys posted on my progress...it's really time to get this done....the sleeve helps so much though really...I think I forget how much better off I am now that a year ago...dieting is something I can face without much difficulty as the physical hunger is really minimal...head hunger is trouble...but that's the final frontier isn't it...may as well get used to dealing with it...
have a great day...SEAVIEW

Good luck.  I know you can do this - look how far you have come.

Unfortunately, I think we will have to watch things that we eat for the rest of our lives.  Not saying we can never take a break or have treats ocassionally.  I do think we have to be careful about letting our bad habits back into our eating habits.  Luckily our tools help with this.

Congraulations on the success you have had.
