Thyroid Medication Questions - Again

I am curious, do all of you take your thyroid meds 1st thing in the am? I"ve only been taking my meds for 3-4 weeks. and I was having good luck taking it while driving to work each morning around 8:30 or so. I just today paid attention to its directions, and am supposed to take it 1st thing and on an empty stomach!!! can't believe I missed that. I am supposed to have my levels rechecked, but am unsure if I screwed everything up by taking it the way I did (stomach was no longer empty)?

Just wondering if I should wait for bit? I can recheck them as soon as tomorrow or next week, but I am scheduled for WLS on Monday, so was thinking tomorrow will be easier....

Yes, I have always taken my Synthroid early in the AM & on an empty stomach.    Cindy

My case manager told me the other night that I have to take my meds on an empty stomach in the morning and take it two hours before my PPI or any other medication or vitamins.  Maybe you should wait a little longer to get yours checked?

Cindy, I think that you're right about bouncing around until my weight/health stabilize.  Thanks for adding your experience.

I used to be on 225 mcg of synthroid, now down to 175 mcg. It's a lot but you should take what you need to get you at the proper level. The level changed and is now .3-3. Anywhere in that range is normal. It used to be .5-5, but that changed about 1-2 years ago and no doctors should be using that range now. Good luck.

 Thanks Trooper!  My doctor upped my dosage today to ,.50, up fro .25
