Hi everyone!  Well, I've got a question here.  I was raised that wearing white after Labor Day wasn't ok - but now I hear and read its ok.  So today I decided to wear white.  This is a thing called "winter white".. which may be more of a cream?  But anyway, today I'm wearing white.  What are your thoughts on this?

My issue is - this sweater I bought in August.  I picked it up at TJ Maxx to wear with a sleeveless dress to my daughters' baby shower.  Its in "style" (I think) but I don't know how to wear it so it looks ok.  Below is a pic this morning (sorry its fuzzy, my phone...).

So - I tried looping it in front and it was like a huge knot sticking out of my stomach... so I'm wearing it down.  Is this the right way to wear this sweater?  I've avoided wearing it - basically because I didn't know how....

Now - just to let you know, next weeks' post is going to be about Halloween costumes.  I wanted to give you some advanced notice so you can dig out some pics, come up with stories, etc.

AND - and let's hear about your great deals you found this week and what YOU'RE wearing!!!

Ok - here it is tied and without the sweater.  Sorry about the bathroom mirror pics - best I can do at work!  I didn't resize the bottom one - I usually try to so the pic isn't so big, but it does tend to make me look smaller than I am.  The one right below was shrunk up some but the bottom pic is full size...

what u can do if u dont want to leave it hanging down is u can actually belt it it looks real nice that way i wouldnt knot it as u saw what happened there is way too much material u can break up the white with a fashionable belt and show off ur teeny tiny waist

Oh - good idea!!!  I didn't even think about a belt!!  What color?  Would white be too much white?  Black be too stark?  If I had a cool maroon one to match my shirt, that would be awesome... but I don't.

Hey Toni - you know that your signature is cut off?  Try making the font smaller, or take out a line of space.  :)

You are so slim! White can be worn whenever you like. Since you have a waist, you can overlap the two ends in front and pull the ends entirely around you and tie once in front, no knot. Then you have a great surplice look. I work in a clothing store or I wouldn't dare to give fashion advice. The owner wants us to suggest ways to wear the stuff we sell.
I hope I was clear, it would take 20 second to show you!

Great idea!  I just went and took the ends, wrapped around my waist - they didn't reach back around to the front, so I tied a little knot in the back - it looks great!! Theres hardly any fabric in the back left over either.

Hi Jody,

I put all my white shoes and pants up after labor day.  I was always told that too.

If I ever get to go shopping I might look for the winter white.  I haven't shopped any this week so no great finds.

Our Goodwill is closing so I won't be able to go there anymore.

I like that outfit, it is really cute.  I don't know how you wear the sweater.  I like it down.  I think I've seen them tied in the front like you talked about too.

These pants I have on are lined - so they're heavier than a summer pair - so I feel I can go ahead and wear them!  Of course it was raining this morning - and I was trying to walk so I didn't ge****er/mud splashed up the back!  Figures - it hasn't rained in weeks...
