Checking in 6 days post op VSG
I had my VSG last Thursday. On Saturday, I was released from the hospital. All seemed to go well and Im feeling great. The first day home I had real issues with water. It just wasnt sitting well.....but I added some crystal light to it and now I have no problems getting my fluids in. I havent needed pain meds since being discharged.
The doctor said the lining of my stomach was thin.....so he used small intestine staples as opposed to traditional stomach staples. Not exactly sure what that means, but, will get more clarification at my follow up appt.
I cut all carbs for several months prior to surgery and was down to198 on the day of surgery. Today, six days out, Ive already lost 7 more pounds.
The hardest part of all is not being able to lift my 2 1/2 yr old.
Honestly, I cant believe how easy the recovery has been. Looking forward to some greek yogurt on Saturday........lol

Sounds like you're doing great! I'm glad all went well and you're getting along so well. Take it slow and easy. Oh, another trick with the water is to add a little lemon or lime juice to your water and sweeten with Splenda. Congrats on your weight loss so far.

You sound like you are realy doing great post-op!! I had a pretty easy time of it too. Glad you found the crystal light. Keep up the good work. I lost a lb a day for the first week, then it slowed to about 2.5 lbs a week, I was a little disappointed...I liked seeing that scale move EVERYDAY LOL. Be careful not to strain yourself lifting your little one. Enjoy your yogurt on Sat!! Good luck on your journey.
