I know my hysterectomy was an open one and that's why I was off longer, but my hormones went completely crazy on me.

I looked at the Whole Wheat English Muffins tonight and then changed my mine. I just can't bring myself to eat bread. I feel like I'm contradicting myself because it would be a "BAD" carb but I'm afraid that I would eat the whole package and want more.
Sounds like a Yummy menu!

One of our pre-ops just sent me a PM asking how I make them so here was my response...
I use chocolate whey protein powder. I use a heaping scoop of protein powder which comes to 30g of protein. Then I add about a teaspoon each of vanilla and butterscotch sugar free/fat free dry instant pudding mix. To that I usually add somewhere between 4-6oz of water. That all goes in the blender or bullet and mix it up for a few seconds. I prefer the blender. Then add about a cup and a half to two cups of ice. This is where you have to experiment to get the right consistency. But if you are still pre op it's not going to hurt you to play around with it. Then blend until it's the consistency of a milk shake. I love them. Of course early out you aren't going to be able to do high volume and it will seem like a miracle to get 4 oz down. But you will progress. Also when I started out I could only make shakes in a shaker bottle with the metal ball. The blender/magic bullet added too much air and it hurt my tummy. I also only used the protein powder and not the pudding early out because it would've been too rich otherwise. I have always made my shakes with water, milk just made them too rich early out and then down the road I figured why waist the calories.
I have used the same protein powder since I had surgery. I originally ordered it from bodybuilding.com but when they quit carrying it I started ordering it from Vegas Nutrition. It is a whey based powder and it is very low carb. It has 1 gram of fat and 3 grams of sugar and that's actually for a full serving which is two scoops and equal to 55 grams of protein. It's my personal pick based on taste. When I mix it with water and ice and shake it in the shaker bottle it tastes like a Yoohoo chocolate drink. It's pretty good in coffee too. I've had the strawberry and sometimes I'll mix it with the cheesecake pudding and the vanilla is really good as a base. My favorite for that is pumpkin protein pudding. Extreme Labs is the company that makes it. It's called Pro Lean Mass Xtreme. I just tried it because it's what had been recommended to my sister who had RNY 5 1/2 years ago. I just haven't found anything that I like any better. I don't find it to have a protein taste or smell to it at all. I will say though I am very intrigued by your Nectar Ruby Red Grapefruit and I'm thinking of ordering that to try. It sounds very refreshing.
