Stomach Noise
I work in a quiet corporate office with several people surrounding me -- how do you handle the embarassment of your stomach making weird noises in front of co-workers or while in meetings??? I have yet to have the surgery but just curious so I can know whether to inform others about my surgery side effects or not!
Wellll - I'm almost 2 years out (RNY) and my stomach "talks" all the time. I notice its primarily after drinking something - but not always. Its been quiet today. But I was getting a massage one day and man - was it noisy! We laughed about it...
If I'm in a quiet environment I just sit and kinda rub my stomach.. see if it helps.

I'm still pretty noisy, in fact right this minute my tummy is making noises. It doesn't last more than 5-10 minutes after eating (for me anyway). I usually eat at my desk (which is secluded) so that really hasn't been an issue. When I'm in a group of people, usually they are noisy enough that my stomach can't be heard. My family is use to it at home. I kept my surgery to myself so no one at work knows about it. Occasionally I have had to cover up with a little "excuse me, I have indigestion" and it's been fine. I try not to eat within 15-20 minutes of a meeting.
