I so hear you on the ability to cross our legs without having to hold it up there with our hands. This may be the one thing I can do physically that makes me the happiest because I couldn't for so long. Maybe one day I'll be able to cross my legs and tuck my foot behind the other one!

Congrats on getting to goal in 7 months. I'm at 7 months now and have 30 lbs to go.

That's Awesome Andrea!!!   I only take showers, but I know what it's like to stand up after sitting on the floor without hanging on to a chair, so I know it's a GREAT WOW!!!!  It's probably perfect timing for the coat to fit you....the same styles are probably back in.

Roz

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

It is very gratifying when we can do things we couldn't before. The raincoat is a classic style so I guess it never went out....

I have to say all  my college student are starting to wear clothes I wore in college in the 80's and it makes me laugh, especially the sunglasses, I look at them and think, "I wore those? They are God Awful!"

Those are two very big accomplishments to say wow over! Is the raincoat a Burberry by any chance?  I have one in my closet that I haven't fit into since 1986!

I know what you mean about the bathtub! Those are the things I find the most gratifying. I don't think I am quite there yet, but I am starting to notice that many things about everyday life are getting easier. Today I hosted a neighborhood daffodil planting party. Afterwards my 14-yr-old son said "Mom, today when you were walking around doing stuff, you were moving so much faster and better.  Like a normal little-bit-overweight-mom.... not like a lady that you would see and say 'whoa....that lady is really obese!"   Haha.  Even though that sounds a little insulting, he meant it in a good way - which is how I took it.  Although I must admit I did ask him if I really used to be so heavy that people would say 'that lady is really obese!'  My son reluctantly, sheepishly nodded his head yes.  So then I asked, "So you think I look much different now?"  It's funny how I don't see myself as looking that different yet.  But I sure FEEL different!

Good going Andrea!

The coat is a Colubmbia, you know the mother son commercials where she is always torturing her son in extreme weather conditions while he wears the jackets? I'm still smiling about the bathtub, makes me want to take another bath. I am losing really slowly, from what I can tell I am the slowest loser on this board, which is a challenge to not compare myself. So these victories mean a great deal. I think I'm going to write them all down and put a list on my bathroom mirror, in my car, at work, all places where I can see them and be reminded. This will help me keep going.

Congratulations on your achievements too. I'm thrilled for you. Your son sounds like a great kid.

Actually Andrea, I have not lost weight since the 2nd week in September and I'm getting concerned.  I think it is because I am not exercising, not eating enough, and I'm not getting enough sleep.  I can understand having these factors slow my weight down, but to stop it completely?  Weird.  Also I seem to have hit some sort of set point.  I've been at the same exact weight for weeks.

Oh, and your jacket .... Columbia makes perfect sense :)   What would you need a trench coat in Vermont for anyway!  Haha.  I miss Vt.  We used to go there quite often when we lived in Boston.

Anyway....don't feel so alone with your snails pace, because I'm collecting a lot of snail slime myself.  I want to change that trend though.  Any thoughts?  Maybe we can push each other, if that's what it takes.  Is there anything you are or are not doing that you can think of that might be slowing your weight loss down?
