I don't like my coffee......

I have never been a coffee drinker, but enjoy it in cool weather occasionally. I decided to try making a protein coffee as an alternative to getting more protein in and made it as follows:

1 scoop vanilla isopure protein powder
1/4 cup milk
(make a slurry)
1 pkt decaf instant coffee made with 3/4 ho****er
splash of sugar free davinci irish cream
mix all together

I was expecting this to be soooooooo luscious - - - like a bailey's coffee minus the alcohol. It does not taste at all like irish cream to me.

Any suggestions???

I have the Irish Cream also and I like it but it wasn't what I expected either.  I use Nectar Latte and decaf plain most days, occasionally put a SF syrup in.  I do like brewed decaf much better than the instant, which is a task since DH only drinks regular and we discuss who gets the coffee maker at times, VBG.

I make mine sometimes with Vanilla protein powder.
I use 1 1/2 cups water - microwave for 2 1/2 minutes
Mix 1 scoop protein powder in 1/2 cup Milk(I use Hood Calorie Countdown-less carbs) stir until smooth.
I put 2 tsp of decaf coffee in ho****er and 1 stick of the french vanilla splenda stir good and then pour the protein/milk mixture into this.
Sometimes I put a tablespoon of lite coolwhip on top of this.
I make mine in a soup cup because it is a lot of liquid.  It takes me about 15 minutes to drink it all.
I usually use the Nectar Latte but like to change to vanilla sometimes.
I had to experiment to get the taste that I like.

I love to brew my decaf with cinnamon or pumkin pie spice sprinkled over the grounds.
Try a different protein powder.
Not gonna taste like our old favorites, but with the spice and coffee it hides enough of the protein smell that I can drink it easily. I have had a hard time getting past the smell of the protein powders, so this really helped.
Keep experimenting, you will find something that works for you.

Is Ur coffee strong enough ? I make my chai tea and my coffee ridiculously strong ..... I also grind my own beans and make my own fresh organic brew .....

ok call me crazy but if im gonna sin .... at least make it WORTHWHILE

speaking of sins ( oh horrors ) .. a dollop of fat free whipped cream and the occasional splash of frangelico liqueur ( oh its made by MONKS from HERBS ..... ) lol does me just FINE

i know im naughty

personally i prefer isopure banana to vanilla too but the marshmallowy taste of vanilla is slammin ' with swiss miss 25 calorie diet hot cocoa ......
