Hormones raging and low energy 3 weeks out
But, I'm really cranky the last 2 days and by 7:00 p.m. I could literally drop in my tracks. Would this be from the ghrelin drop? Or the drastic reduction in calories?
I am 12 years status post a TAH-BSO so don't know about the "female" hormones. I am walking about a mile almost every day. They have cut me no slack at work (even though it is a desk job, it is challenging). I'm just feeling out of sorts and blatantly seeking sympathy and suggestions.

I took 4 weeks off from my surgery - I could have went back after 3 weeks... but since it was already pre-approved, I didn't.
We store hormones in our fat, so you probably are feeling the affects of them being relesed quickly. It goes in stages... I noticed a few times, but most of the time it didn't really bother me.
Hang in there! It does get better!

My only hormone thing was my temp. I was hot or cold for no reason, many times during the day.

My body does not absorb oral iron very well, so I get iron infusions when needed (one reason I chose the VSG over the RNY) but I don't feel like I do when my iron gets real low (breathless). I bought some copper and zinc supplement today b/c I have heard it helps with the hair loss... it can't hurt, right?
Just gonna try to get more sleep this weekend, though the weather is so gorgeous here in middle Tennessee that will be hard to do... it won't stay like this much longer.
Thanks for all your support!

Your calories are fine. I think I was eating 500-600 at three weeks and had difficulty getting in all of my protein and vitamins. You're doing fantastic.
I think that your walking is the most important part of this. I wasn't consistent with walking until into the second month and I think it made a huge difference for me. Keep walking and sleep at every opportunity.

Hang in there!!! This too shall pass!! I don't remember how long it took me to get back to "normal". I think it might have been around 5-6 weeks?.. I went back to work after 7 weeks. Your body is still trying to adjust to everything. Also remember, you body is use to pushing all your hormones through your pre op body.....now you've lost some weight, some fat, etc....now it needs to learn you might not need that many hormones any more! Not sure if this is true, but its what I told myself....made me feel better!!
Just remember, you're doing great!!!! Keep up the walking and water!!
