My ekg pre-op
Just had my ekg and was cleared for surgery on the 25th. My pcp is a great (tiny) lady who did suggest I could "always postpone RNY to see if my hypothyroid condition improves with meds" (I was recently diagnosed with all those blood samples drawn).
She also said it is difficult to lose weight with hypo, but if I regulate it I may be able to lose weight on my own.... I SO DO NOT NEED opinions that add to my insecurities!!!!!
Thank you for "listening"

Thanks girls, you're the BEST! And Jenni, aka soul sista, I believe you. I hava no way of knowing how long I've had my thyroid condition, as I was never one to walk into my pcp for ME! I have 3 sons and a daughter who were there tons growing up. Somehow it never occurred to me to have silly things like "blood panels" drawn on little ol' me!
I usually went for my annual exam, but that doctor was concentrating on another area! . My point being, I too was a yoyo dieter, with varying degrees of success. I probably had my thyroid off for years, as i am ALWAYS exhausted!
I will soon be joining all of you on that loser's bench, so move over please!

Personally, I would probably talk to my Surgeon with my weight being my #1 priority. If losing weight doesn't help the thyroid condition at least losing weight will make you healthier over all to deal with it.
