Fitness Challenge - October 13

Good morning LW's!! 

How is your week going? Are we doing anything new for fitness this week? What did you do yesterday? What are you doing today? 

me?? Well, I have been doing the elliptical and it feels great!! Only have enough time to do a 30 min workout with my work schedule this week but hey, its a workout right?

I made the mistake of reading some articles about how many calories we really burn doing certain exercises...so I have been going super hard with my workouts. The calories that the treadmill says I burn is 2-3 times what I really burn. Took the whole day off yesterday, so I was good and rested for this morning!

60minutes treadmill (running hard on an incline)
200 crunches
40 push-ups (1/2 "boy", 1/2 "girl")
2min plank
will probably take a walk or something later

Good morning! 

I'm in Cleveland for board meetings.  Since my flight here was early this morning, I didn't do my run before leaving.  However, I arrived about 1.5 hours before my meetings start, so I just went for a run along whatever Great Lake there is here.  (Yes, I know it's pathetic that I've forgotten...)  It sounds much more picturesque than it actually is.  You can't really see the water as you run along the street in the section of downtown where I am...

I'm just getting ready for my pushups (40) and crunches (100).  Then, shower and downstairs for 4 days of meetings all day and all night.  They work us very hard!

I was at Alumni Convocation in New Haven yesterday and went for a very early morning run on the fitness center treadmill.  I haven't run on a treadmill in ages - it's so much harder for me because I get so bored, and get dizzy if I try to watch tv.  I'm so glad I can still run outside right now!

Well, I think I will do at least 30 minutes on the elliptical crosstrainer tonight! I need to get back on my running schedule starting in the morning!

My friend just signed us up for a 12 person relay team that runs from the top of the cascade mountains to the Oregon coast. It is almost 200 miles with lots of hills! It doesn't happen until next August, but it will take lots of training. Each person will have three 5 - 8 mile legs to run. Teams are selected by lottery, so we may not get chosen, but I will train like we will be! :)
