Best Quote from New Orleans!
New Orleans was great except for my accident at the hotel. I was at the pool and sat down on a mesh lounge chair, the type with the aluminum frame. When I leaned back, the chair flew back, throwing me on my head and back. I did ok the rest of the trip as long as I kept walking. My chiropractor is going to put me back together but it's slow going as he can't adjust me due to the trama to my back. Sitting at my desk or computer is the worst.
We walked a ton, went to hear great jazz at least once a day and explored fantastic restaurants. Now I see why some chefs are famous for their food! I never knew a shrimp could taste so incredible! Zach was great and split everything with me so that I could order an appetizer and then munch a little of his entree and even bite a dessert here and there. I came home up 4 ounces and up 1 pound from last Monday. Not terrible for eating out all meals for 5 days and having a birthday dinner with friends.
So here's my best quote which Zach kept repeating to me to make me laugh and smile all weekend. We were in a women's boutique clothing store. They had all "my" type of clothes. Lot's of Flax which is a line of linen clothing that I wear a lot. I was looking around and doing my best to not buy a thing since I'm changing sizes at this point. As I'm walking around the store, I spot a room off the main room and head towards it. The sales person comes after me and says:
Wait Ma'am, that's our PLUS SIZE AREA!
There was that wonderful women calling me a normal sized person!! That was one of the nicest things that anyone has ever said to me. I spent the rest of the weekend looking in store front windows to check out my reflection.
Zach was there to remind me at least a million times a day how fabulous I look , how proud of me he is and how grateful he is to have such an adventurous mama. Life is good!
