do you worry you will lose too much?

Thank you so much for posting this! I honestly have been thinking about posting something...

Anyway... yeah, I'm 4.5 months out and have hit *my* original goal of 175 (basically just dipping into the Normal BMI). My surgeon's office doesn't set a goal per say for patients, but 156 is smack in the middle of normal BMI for me and they said I could be anywhere around there. The way I've been losing I may hit that at 6 months.

Don't get me wrong, this is not a complaint in the least. I am thankful everyday for this gift... I'm just wondering when I'll stop. I've read where a lot of people stop 12 months, 18 months, etc... umm I'll get blown away in a gentle wind if I keep losing until then.

Anyway... I'll be bringing this up at my 6 month if not earlier.

Anyway, again, thanks for posting this! -John

If you're still losing several pounds a week and getting too close to the lower end of normal BMI, talk to your surgeon or PCP about digestive enzymes (Creon is one of them). Also, you can start increasing your protein shakes to help stabilize yourself. You don't want to add extra carby calories to slow and stop yourself. Sounds like you're doing great!

Thanks Gina! I just looked up my appointment and it's about a month away. I think I should be o****il then. Heck, I'm probably worrying about nothing... Good point on the carbs, I've felt my mind going that direction.

Thanks!
John

Thanks for all of the replies!  It sounds like this is something that most of us think about but isn't really a huge issue.  I'm feeling pretty good about it.

Oh my goodness.  I worry about not getting to goal, not about whether I'll stop letting go of weight once I'm there.

Yeah, I worried like crazy. It was a total waste of energy! OTOH, I did have to actively add calories to my diet to get my weight loss to stop. Not everyone has to do that, but I am pretty active and I was still losing 1-2 pounds a week when I was within 5 lb. of where I wanted to stop.
