So I finally decided to spend some money on a good pair of jeans and headed off to the gap. I still felt like a fat girl out of place once i first walked in the store. But the sales girl was sooo nice, made me feel pretty comfortable and asked me what size I needed. I shocked myself when I heard "14" come out of my mouth. Im thinking...there is noooo way im going to be able to fit in a 14 even though I have a pair of Lee's that or 14s but they are stretchy fabric! She got two different styles one being the 'long and lean'. Now, at 5'2...Im neither long nor lean!! She said that I should try a 12 in the long and lean...sure..whatever you say! lol. But to my amazment...they fit!! I can actually button and zip them up!! And no muffin top!! Me?? A size 12?? Never thought I would see the day!! Ofcourse they are still too long but I can fix that no prob!

The scale isnt moving as quickly anymore but hey the clothes sizes are getting smaller so that aint too shabby!!

Good for you Cranberrie!
I notice our surgery dates are almost the same and so are our starting weights and current weights!
Good job!
I can wear 12's too, I can get a size 10 on but they won't zip, LOL.

Congrats! DD got me hooked on the Long and Lean jeans as well - although I'm fortunate enough to fine mine at Goodwill!

You are doing great!

I'd say that's not too shabby at all!

I went to TJ Maxx last week and tried on almost everything (that I liked) that they had in a size 8. I was determined only to buy 8s. Not everything fit, but I got the ones that did!

Now I can claim that I "wear a size 8." Give this technique a try - it's very rewarding!

Its really exciting isn't it ladies. I am also a size 12, I like to say a true size 12 because I tried on a few different brands of jeans and Yup all 12's. I can't even remember ever being a size 12, well maybe once because I have this pair of gap jeans from about 15yrs ago...........Yes I said 15yrs ago, they are so old they are button fly. Remember those??? Well I always kept them because they were the smallest pair of jeans I remember ever wearing in my adult life. They have always been floating around in my closet and so I decided to try them on the other day. Well they fit and are to loose in the hip. These jeans have NO stretch either. Well I wore them just because I could and they looked good if I do say so myself. Also ladies I was about the same size you were at surgery 225 and I am down to 160lbs. We should be so proud of ourselves. Thanks to your post I am heading to the nearest gap to try on the long and lean. I am 5ft7 and am sick of jeans not being long enough. Keep up the good work surgery sisters. Its paying off big time.

hey Tracy- I also had a pair of button fly gap jeans from years ago that i would always keep cause they were the smallest ones i had!! lol. but i must have gotten rid of them in one of our recent moves cause i cant find them! i loved those jeans!

gap is doing a promotion where if you take in a pair of your old jeans..any brand..you get a discount on your new jeans! i cant remember all the details...i was just too excited that i was wearing a 12 to pay attention! lol. but last year they recycled all the jeans and turned them into insulation for houses new houses in new orleans. so its for a good cause!

oh and today i got on the scale and was at 166.8!! down a lb!!  i guess  maybei should go shopping more often!! lol

hope yall have a great weekend!!
