Slow losers- first month

I am in the dreaded stall.  I am 3 weeks post op and have "only" lost 13 lbs.   At one point earlier last week the scale went up 2 lbs and stayed there.  No movement since that little change.

I am trying not to be disappointed.  Trying to do what I am supposed to and I know the scale will move again.  Guess I just had high hopes for this first month.

I know everyone is different, but just wondering how much you other lightweights lost your first month out?

When is the  last time you lost 13 lbs in 3 weeks?  That is awesome..it is normal for the stall at this point in time.. Keep doing what your doing.. the scale will move..

Best wishes on your wls journey

Looks like you are RIGHT on track!
~In the first three weeks I lost about 18-20 pounds right away
~Then I stalled for 3 weeks (lost and gained the same two pounds)
~Next, weeks 6-10  I "creeped" along and lost 6 more pounds (about 1/2 a pound a
  week...painfully slow, but losing again!)
~Finally, I've broken free (for the time being and have dropped 11 pounds in the last two weeks!)

It sounds like you are doing fine!  Enjoy your life, stay busy....with what you are eating right now (calorie-wise), there is NO WAY you CAN'T be losing weight!  The scale WILL move!

Also, the whole time I was stalled, I was losing inches!  The scale will catch up!
Best wishes!

I will have to look back and see how much I lost right away, but I know I have averaged about 13 pounds a month the whole time. Some months more, some months less. That first stall (and any after that) are soooo frustrating. I will promise you, as everyone promised me, that you will lose if you are doing what you are supposed to do. I know it's hard to believe when you hit that stall, but it will happen. Hang in there!

Hang in there.  It will pass.  Did you take your measurements?  If not, please do it right away.  You will see a difference in your measurements sometimes when you are not losing weight.  Please don't just depend on the scales for your successes.  They will move eventually.
Good luck.  I lost 18.7 the first month, but I had RNY.  I'm not sure if it is the same with VSG.

Thanks for the replies.  I do need to take measurements.  I have lost almost a size.  I can squeeze into a regular 16 now and my scrubs are about to fall off.  I am going to have to do some alterations or invest in new ones soon!
