Let's help them out!
Hi!
I was talking to some people at support group the other night, and a few people mentioned feeling discouraged by other people's weights and loss and rates, etc.
I've noticed that it's especially helpful to look at people's signatures and weights knowing how tall they are. It just puts things into important perspective.
I wondered if you would be willing to join me in doing the same? Just post your height in your signature.
Can't remember how? Go to:
MY OH --> Settings --> Message Board
and you'll find your signature there.
Do this and you may not realize how much you're helping someone else! (And thanks to everyone who already does!)
Cheers,
Rosa

Rosa i won't do it because i post on other boards tool ike the main forum etc .... and the DS board and failed WLS board wand i get flamed for being an anorexic lol !!
Not everywhere is as accepting as the LW board ..unfortunately ...and I find i can preach "play nice " to some ( usually lifelong morbidly obese ) OHERS all i want ...they still wont ( or cant ) make the leap of understanding to put themselves into MY shoes . LOL
im 5'9" - a towering 6'2" or even 3 in heels ! I love my height ! ;)
And weird as the numbers sound ... I have plenty of meat on my bones ( andflubber around my middle ) still.... then again i have a defective scale...i may well be 20 lbs heavier than i think i am when i weigh at the docs office ..... right now im KEEPING it because it gives me encouragement on the way down.... the only shift ive made is im beliveing the HEAVIEST weight as opposed to averaging the heaviest and the lightest when i ride it around the room.... but sometimes like today i see a miracle ... so ill just TAKE it ;) IM HUMAN .
I personally dont give a HOOT what weight i end up at ( i always believed athletes weigh like ROCKS - and i was used to being a size 4 and weighing in the 160s ...) but i NEED to be a size 00 because im built large on top and for what i do ... most shots are head and shoulder shots or torso shots and those frame my HEAVY areas ...
So having long spidery legs doesnt help a bit ;( unfortunately
I also love being my own living sculpture and finally seeing my hard won definition i worked so many YEARS endless hours swimming running n playing sports to EARN lol . And finally i suspect most of those on camera chix and on runway chix are REAL liteweights if U know what i mean .... just based on the numbers im registering ... lol
people lie to the tabloids all the time ...im a size six......SURE U are .... LOL
Its nice that I can be honest and be accepted here

Mine is already there. I think that's a great idea! Also, if you are friends with someone or their profile is not private, you can look at it and see their BMI. I do that all the time. I know we are not supposed to compare, but when you see someone's weight and wish you could be there, you need to look at their height and BMI to really compare.
I must be mentally challenged or something... can you take a second to explain this concept to me please? Eg, when you look at someone's height and BMI to compare. I've just been going along not really very in tune with these comparisons, but now I am curious. At this point I'm just comparing myself to me and my overall trending. And I'm not very pleased with my trend lately btw! Gotta work harder!
Thanks!

Most of us have compared ourselves to others at times (number of pounds lost at a certain point post-op). I started looking at people's losses, and their height and BMI because if someone is very short like me, their weight should be lower than someone who is 6 feet tall. Also, there are people on this site who are now underweight, which is not good either. So if you are going to compare youself to anyone, it should be someone with similar overall stats. However, you still shouldn't compare because everyone is different. Hope I didn't confuse you more.
