Good Morning. Slow cooker going...beef stew tonight

DH is eating well since I'm on sick leave...I hope he doesn't get used to it. lol  Cubed a roast for beef stew that was getting a little too old in the freezer for my tastes but should do ok in a slow cooker with fresh veggies added a little later today.

I went to my doc's support group last night and had a good time. We got the dietitian off her outline almost before she got started but in reality we stayed right on topic. We talked about support post-WLS, to tell or not tell people ahead of time, where your support comes from, etc. I mentioned the DS and LW boards several times as did others. I like the way she "runs" the meetings. We're very small so we can sit around and chat and it doesn't get out of hand too much. Last night we had 2 sleevers w/band around the sleeve, 2 DSrs and a sweet lady who'll be getting something like and eRNY or DS with a pouch revision, I think. Dr E is going to revise her previous 1997-ish BPD WLS. That's kind of a large pouch instead of a sleeve and the limb lengths are a little different that what is done today. I think he wants to go in and adjust those lengths as well. (If you're reading this, I hope you don't mind me trying to explain and please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Today, I have a few things to do including getting our passport applications filed at the post office. Going on a cruise in Feb!   Vitalady's order will arrive today and I'm hoping I can get the FedEx guy to put the boxes inside the door 'cause I know I'm not moving them. lol

Oh, the office sent me flowers yesterday. Now that was nice!

I think that's about it. What are you guys up to today?

lol  Poor baby! I don't think Liz will be fixing you beef stew tonight.  Dinner is at 5:30 or so, hubby is going to the dentist today too but only for a cleaning. The beef will be extra tender. MmmMmm!

If we get down towards Gatlinburg or Boone, we definitely will let you guys know we're in the neighborhood so we can meet up for dinner. Be good to Liz today. I figure she doesn't get mad, she gets even! lol

Liz's root canal went as well as a root canal can. She got a script for Lortab so she is happy.

You are right. Liz doesn't get mad. She gets even.

How was dinner?

I'm glad Liz is doing ok and is happily on Lortab. The stew was ok but not great. [sigh]

Tell Liz I hope she feels better soon. Thanks for letting me know how she's doing.

The beef stew sounds delicious!  I always forget about my crockpot.....I'll have to get it out!

I have yet to make one of my doctor's support meetings....my doctor is 2 hours away and the meetings are on Saturday mornings when my daughter has riding lessons.  I need to get to one though!

I'm having a garage sale on Friday and Saturday so today I'm hitting the attic...YIKES!!!

Hi Gina and everyone.
I fixed beef stew Sunday.  I have not had any of it yet. DH and my friend that stays with us Tues & Wed nights had some and said it was good.

I've been having some pain and tenderness around my belly button since Sunday afternoon when I eat and feeling sick at my stomach.  It kind of comes and goes.  I am still going to the bathroom and passing gas but it does feel bloated sometimes.  I called the surgeon's nurse yesterday and thought I might have to go today for a test, but he called in a prescription of carafate(?) and thinks I might just have it irritated.  Of course she said it the pain became severe to go to the ER immediately.  I'm suppose to try and stay on bland softer foods.  I know I probably need to give up one of the decaf's every day and some of the unsweet tea.

I'm at work and really have a couple of things that need to get finished today.

Gina how long are you going to be out of work?  That was sweet of them to send you flowers.

Hope everyone has a great day.
Linda

Are you thinking a hernia? Kind of sounds like it. Take care and keep us posted.

I'm off all week and will see how I feel next week.

I've never had a hernia so I don't know how that would feel.  I was worried about a partial bowel obstruction and am really hoping it is just irritation.  It does feel better today since I have not eaten any real food since lunch yesterday.  Pretty much stuck with liquids and yogurt after lunch yesterday.
