last Pre-Op appt. before surgery, and my SURGEON made a HUGE BOO-BOO!!!
I had my last appointment with my surgeon yesterday before he RESCHEDULED me for Tuesday Oct. 12... (mark your calendars) hehehehehehehe
He had a room of 12 Pre-Ops, and only 2 were having the SLEEVE. He talked in general about the surgeries and then immediately told those that were going to have the Lap-band (9) you will be HUNGRY the first few weeks until you can get proper RESTRICTION... After he looked around the room and saw MOUTHS literally drop open, he apologized and told them he didn't mean to be harsh, but that is what they should expect. He then called me and the other Pre-op VSG to his office, and told us how PROUD he was that we chose VSG, and that we must have done lots of research and that most of his patients even when he discusses VSG, has either never heard of it, or is purely stuck to their choice for the lap-band, and that he was sure WE WOULD NOT FEEL ANY HUNGER, as he would be removing the stomach hormone that causes hunger, which is GHRELIN... But he says he NEVER says that to patients, because he dont like to SWAY a patient to a specific surgery, and go against one. he has performed thousands of BANDS, and says he wishes one day they just "Do away with them" . I am not bashing the BAND, and I;m sure it is a GREAT TOOL for lots of people. But I just thought the VSG was best for me, especially since all the info I received on here!!! COUNTING DOWN AGAIN!!!!! Yall can swing anything you'd like on the 12th, which will be more than appreciated, but I believe in PRAYER too, and those are MORE THAN WELCOME!!!

I personally would find a new doctor,, he sounds like the minke commercial, I expect a doctor to be the professional expert and tell me what is best, and guide me to the best procedure possible for my health, not just provide a service at a widow, that is why I'm traveling to Omaha past 12 very distinguished surgeons to the one i feel is the best.
