Fitness Challenge - October 5

Good morning,

How are you all doing this lovely Tuesday? It has been raining here for days now. I live in Northern Nevada and we don't get much rain let alone days worth. I have been loving the thunder and lightening show too. As long as we don't get fires going...it's all good.

So...with fall here and winter slowly approaching (ugh, that hurt to say...lol) where do you see your fitness activities taking you? 

I may just want to try to learn how to ski this year!!  

I have lived here for 21 years and never played in the snow. Drive in it...get stuck in it...spin out in it...but never recreationally play in it.

I thought I have always been way too fat to be sliding on sticks down a hill when gravity it on... wouldn't be a pretty sight!! 

Anywhoo...so what are your ambitions this fall/winter? 

What are your fitness plans today? 

I go today for my 6 week check up and hopefully I will be cleared for fitness activities (of all kinds...)  So a walk is in order today.

Just a quick checkin for me.  I don't think I checked in the last few days.

Sunday:  1.5 hour hike in the hills, then a 30 minute walk to the manicure salon
Monday: 60 minutes of walking
Today: Planning 90 minutes of walking

No clue what I'll do this winter.  Learn to love walking in the rain?  :)

Hey Lee...I love seeing your hikes and walks. I think it would be great living in the city like that...everyday commute is a fitness challenge (even in the car...lol)

The bay area can get cold rain...I don't know if I'd learn to love it...but we gots time to come up with something huh...

so glad ur feeling great i cant believe its been 6 weeks already geeez where does the time go?
this winter i will continue to go to the gym and do my regimen. i plan on going iceskating which i love to do. dh doesnt like it cuz his feet go in lolol. id love to have a w/e, and go skiing its so much fun to do so those r the things i want to do
this winter .

Hey there sunshine!! Yup, 6 weeks...I'm done with it...LOL 

I'm a pretty much a wuss when it come to the cold. I'm a tropical gal so it always looks fun to play but we'll see.

Shelby and I ran through the crowds of NYU students this morning.  Having been sick yesterday, I didn't have as much umph as I usually do on a Tuesday.  But we got the job done!

I don't enjoy participating in winter sports, though I do love to watch them!  I'll have to give that one some thought.  So far, running in the cool morning has been fun.  I think I'll keep that up until it starts to get icy.

Hey Diana!!  I'm going to zumba tonight!  May hit the gym first - we'll see. 

Winter activities?  Well - the gym will probably be the main thing, BUT - I do want to get outside and get involved in snow activities (hate the snow!).  I did some snowshoeing last year and want to get back into downhill skiing again.  Let's just say my last experience with skiing was memorable, but not in a good way.  The snowmobile people had to come pick me up everytime I fell - I couldn't get up!  AND - I wasn't even at my heaviest.... embarrassing...

Hope you get cleared through the Dr!!!

I've been MIA from the board, but I have been getting up at 4:15 and running like a crazy woman. I needed a day off today, but need to get that weekend pound off, so I walked for 45 minutes. Tomorrow I'll be back on it hard core.

I think I'll be on the treadmill more this winter. Might hang up the running shoes till spring. I have a hard time in the cold these days. Maybe I'll bundle up and get outside, who knows. I love skiing. I want to get DH out there too. I have been skiing since I was 2.

Hubby & I are going to the gym after supper.  My plan is 30 min on the treadmill and 30 min of weights.  Keep movin' & Groovin' LWs!  Cindy
