Can you count the times....

That you used to pull your shirt down in the back because it bunched up on your tushie shelf?  I used to pull my shirt down everytime I stood up and started to walk.  What?  Did I think my tush would look smaller if my shirt was pulled down?  My tush had one of those big shelves.  Nice wide tush.  I probably could have carried books back there.  Now it's getting flattened down. Not gonna have a shelf left as it heads to my knees.  I still haven't gotten down to those squats yet, but I probably better start quickly.  OY!

One day I realized that I no longer pull down my shirt.  In fact, I often wear cropped shirts to show off my small (if you can call 30" small) waist.  I decided that I would never again do that "pull down the shirt thingy".  Now I watch women in my office doing it all the time.

Maybe I was burning calories doing it what seemed like a million time a day!!  Opps, I'd better find some other arm action.  :)

actually some of my tops are dresses lolool
my ass and my thighs r trouble spots for me as i have a pear shape. although im still a bit nervous, im beginiing to show 1/2 of my ass lololol. yayyyyyyyy !!!! its funny though my butt looks so much better with out clothes it looks smaller as soon as i put on bottoms it looks bigger. i actually think i look thinner nekkid if that makes any sense .

Of course it makes sense!  I think when we wear big clothes, while we think it hides us, it actually makes us look bigger than we really are underneath.

Funny.  sometimes looking at clothes I will think "oh, that will make me look fat"

And then I say to myself, out loud.

"Babygirl.  You are NOT fat.  Do you LIKE the *whatever* or NOT?  Does it not fit right? Is it not the right color?  Find the REAL REASON you do not like it, but leave. Yourself.  Alone."

Once fella came home with a tshirt for me from somewhere afar and was afraid it would be too big.

I told him it was too big if I slipped through the neck hole.  :}

Babygirl, you are NOT fat!  I love that you say that to yourself.  :)  I wanna grow up to be just like you!

You just have to use the "correction technique" that I found worked best with youth and chirren, when I was teaching.

Address human in a kind but firm tone.  Address human with familiarity (for me, I use my favorite nick name, for humans i wasnt familliar with, i used "friend")

Point out correction.  The incorrect thought (about being fat) -  "you are not fat"

Show different helpful, non personal thought pathways  "is it cut wrong, is it the wrong color"

Confirm point/action/thought  "leave yourself alone" - which to me means, stop being ugly, which I could/would well say also.

If I am a good friend to me, I will be kind and firm and call myself on unhelpful thinking.  Then I will high five myself and probably realize, I dont need another *x article fo clothing* :}

You are gonna be the best you ever, even more than  you already are!!  That's a tough act to follow! :}

I'm still guilty of this.  But I'm getting better.  I think it's a habit that needs to be broke.

Vera, for me I think it's just becoming mindful of a behaviour that helps me change it, if that's what I want.  Maybe you still like doing that and just aren't ready to let it go?
