I also think that with the H1N1 flu last year, more pcps are inclined to get their patients vaccinated.

I missed mine last year because of the shortage but I got this year's last week (at 1 week postop). No side effects at all and I'm glad I got it.

When I had diabetes prior to WLS I always got a flu shot because I was at higher risk. Last year I got the Swine Flu and it was HORRIBLE! I can see why people whose immune systems are compromised died from it.

I look at the flu shot as "insurance" from the flu. We may or may not get it, but I do think for the most part it has helped me avoid the flu over the past 16 years. I just got mine last week.I think it is a good thing to do, but not everyone will agree.
