Hope for STALLERS and SLOW LOSERS!!!

Good Morning Everybody!!!
I am just about 12 weeks out.  I had surgery in mid-July.  As of today I have lost 36 pounds.  Not bad but NOT fast like some either.

I immediately lost about 20 pounds right after surgery and then "stalled" my way through the next 6 pounds....it took me all of AUGUST and half of SEPTEMBER to lose that!  I couldn't get out of the 180's to save my life!

WELL, looking back at my journal--I realized that from September 19th to October 4th....I lost 10 pounds!!  I made it through the 170's in two weeks!!   I also can fit in "tight", but wearable size 14 pants (started as a 20), and large/medium tops now!

Now, I'm totally expecting things to slow down again through the next "decade" but hopefully my story will keep all you stallers and slow losers motivated!

By the way....I'm not really eating any more or less.  I did add a bag of 100 cal. popcorn each day to get in some carbs/fiber.  I excercise "moderately, exactly 3 times a week----one ZUMBA class on Tuesdays , and two 45 minute sessions on the elliptical THURSDAY & SATURDAY.

I'm a teacher and we are on FALL break this week.....we normally do Disney this week but hubby had obligations at work he couldn't get out of so we moved Disney to Spring Break....missing it terribly.  Decided to have a garage sale so I'm cleaning out BIG TIME....it feels GREAT!!!

Have a great day everyone!!

You're doing great, Peyton. Hang tough, babeee! I think tracking by the month is a good idea. Tracking by the week is a little too over the top. I mean, I weigh everyday but I don't let the number get to my attitude. If I track my weight by the month, I can see the progress easier than by the week, if that makes sense. Mind games

U are doing wonderfully  Peyton !  I mean  from a 20n  to a 14 ..... so fast .... wow !   its not always about  just lbs  either ....

that 100 calorie microwave popcorn .... i know  its not a big deal (  and it isnt )  but almost every one of those calories come from fattening nasty fats and ungodly levels of salt  .

plain Air popped  corn is a LOT more fiber  and better  for U and U can eat a heckuva lot MORE  volume  for that 100 calories .....

if U toast  the corn first  when u but the package  .....thoroughly  get it brown ( stirring occasionally )   over high heat until  it really starts to pop uncontrollably ..... and then store it ....  it will have  a much better  more satisfying taste than  straight  untoasted  corn .   U can even put butter buds on it .

You are absolutely right about the popcorn BUT, I got rid of my air popper a long time ago and have looked at Walmart and Target but can't find one....I figured they were getting obsolete due to the microwaving craze.  Gonna try to look online tonight!  I actually LOVE plain airpopped with no salt or butter!  Thanks for reminding me about it!  :)

Actually - I tracked every time I lost..  There was some program on a ticker site where you could do that - I liked it because I could go back for any time period and see how much I had lost.  So it wasn't just the 21st-the 21st... I could pick and choose any timeframe I wanted.  That definitely helped me keep my sanity at times.  There are so many times when you don't feel like you are losing, but when you go back and look - you have been!

Now - if only I can get MY scale to drop 5 lbs!!

Regain 30 lbs from 2012 to 2016 - got back on track and lost it.  Took 8 months.

I weigh daily as I told to do by my Kaiser program.  Denial can't set in if I see daily what's working or not working.  I generally lose for a week, then stall for 2, then lose, then stall.   I keep track of each month in a list on my profile so that I can go back and look at it.  That way if anything happens to my excel spreadsheet, I still have the info stored.    I have to just keep looking at the ticker at the bottom of my posts and focus on the "still to lose" number and know that it's getting smaller.  I was so sure in the beginning that I was the one person this wouldn't work for, because regardless of how strict I was on a diet, they didn't ever work.

Congratulations on those BIG 10 pounds Peyton!!  That's such a big deal.  :)

Toni, you and I are about identical on our monthly totals!!  I'm old too....not that 50 is THAT old!  I don't know if I'm in the early stages of menopause or not but I certainly have had the crabiness and hot flashes lately!!!
