This is Rachel's husband giving an update on her illness

She was diagnosed yesterday with Influenza Type B, and they told her that her surgery will have to be postponed for maybe a week or two. She was told due to anesthesia for surgery, the chances of beig intubated will put her at a greater risk, as the amount of sputum that will collect in her lungs. Excuse me if anything is misspelled, but I just wanted to give an update as she is literally out of it, and was very upset when the ER told her that her surgery had to be postponed. Once she or myself talk to her surgeon tomorrow (Monday), he will let us know a good time to reschedule.

Thanks for being a good support system for her,
Regards,
Carl

Thank you for posting and give Rachel and gentle hug from me. I know she's disappointed about the postponement but given the situation, it's best. WLS is a big deal and she'll want to be fully recovered and as strong as possible. Tell her MajorMom says, "hang tough, babeee, I'm swinging lizards for a quick recovery and reschedule!" She'll know what that means.

Carl, thank you for the update!  I'm so sorry that she'll have to be rescheduled, but it's better to put it off and be sure of a healthy, safe recovery.  Please tell her that I'm sending hugs and sympathy and hope that she's back to her old self in a matter of days.  Swinging lizards for her and as Gina said, she'll know what that means!

Ditto to everything everyone else said.

Thank you for being a great support to her, too!

And please remind her that the time will pass right by, and she'll be recovering from surgery in no time.

Carl,

Thank you for the update. Better safe than sorry, but I know Rachel must be disappointed very much that she had to postpone. They will work something out... and get her on the schedule soon.
Thank you for loving your her and for giving us a update!

Hugs Rachel, feel better soon.  Remember, this is a hiccup, not a huge mountain.

Thanks for the update Carl.  Let her know we are thinking of her and wishing her well.
Her new time will be here before she knows it.  It is best to be as healthy as you can be for surgery.

I know she will be disappointed but everyone is correct.  She needs to go into this strong and I'm sure they will insure she is ready.  Tell her we are here for her when she wants to whine, she deserves to.
