Well, tomorrow is the day!  I think I have everything in order and am ready to go.  We will head out at about 5am in the morning for about an hour drive to Rome, GA.  My surgery is scheduled for 7:30am.

It has been a long time coming.  This has been a very eventful year.  I had to have two cardiac catheter ablations to correct a heart rhythm problem I was having (two because the first one in June didn't work), all the while doing what I had to do to get approved for wls.  The cardiologist kept saying my heart would be "fixed" and that I could move forward with the surgery.  I guess even as I was working toward it, I still had my doubts about it happening.   I thank God that it all worked out as it should.

Thanks for all the support I have gotten from you all!
Beverly

Bev, you're going to do great. You have worked so hard and been through so much. Just go slow when you get home. This journey isn't a sprint, it's a marathon.

((hugs))

I recommend getting lots of rest today - your body will thank you for going in well-rested.  (Well, to the extent that you can rest, what with all the excitement of this amazing life change...)

Do you have a fun book to keep you company while you wait to go to the OR?  I was grateful for that - read most of _The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo_ while I waited.  But, then again, others might enjoy actually talking to people.  I wasn't in the mood for that (even I, the extreme extrovert!)

Also, I asked the anesthesiologist to let me know when he was about to put me under so that I could go down praying.  That made me feel right as pie.

Can't wait to welcome you to the bench!

Good luck Beverly.  I will look forward to hearing from your DH tomorrow.

Hope you can get a good nights sleep tonight.

You will be in great hands tomorrow with Dr. Scott - so nice to look at too!!

Don't forget to rest, sip and walk.  All the nurses at the hospital are soooo great.  Is Annette meeting you in the morning?

See you on the loser's bench.

Beverly,

Just follow all of your surgeon's directions and take it easy in the beginning.  You will do great, keep us posted.  Good luck tomorrow!

I'd say I'll be swinging chickens(or lizards!) for you, but I don't have any around...so I'll grab a pair of socks my husband likes to put "next" to the hamper and fling them around in the air tonight for ya! ;)

God bless!

I doubly echo the hydrated part.  I hadn't drank anything for a long time prior to going into surgery and they had a dickens of a time finding a vein.  When I went for my PS I drank water up until midnight the night before and it was a piece of cake - they even congratulated me for thinking ahead like that...

You'll do great!  Swinging critters for you for tomorrow!
