Thanks Shannon, I'll check out M&M to see what you're eating.  It's incredible how your body is still releasing those pounds!  You've done so darn well.  I really respect your process.

I was shocked at these last few pounds. I am scared to death to up my calories again already, because I don't want to gain, but I don't want to lose much more either. I would be fine at 100 pounds. But I do think I could stand to have a small treat on the weekends now as long as I can control it. I've been so strict on myself since day 1.

Lee, my dietitan recommends I get at least 1400 calories a day and when doing strenous activity up to 1600 calories.  Maybe the difference is I had bypass not the sleeve and I have the malabsorption issue.  Enjoy your birthday when it gets here!

Hi Sandi, I think there's a big difference between the Sleeve and RNY because of the malabsorption issues.  I seem to absorb what's across the room.  :)

I see, I don't know much about the sleeve.  I am sure there are pros and cons to each procedure.  I think RNY is right for me.  My dr. wanted me to do RNY because of my sleep apnea.  It is gone now though!

Good luck Lee.  I wish I had words of wisdom for you.  I try to stay around 1000 calories a day and try to do the 40/30/30(40% protein 30% good carbs 30% fat)  I usually end up with more protein and carbs than fats.  I did have RNY so I have the malabsorption also and that is probably why more calories are allowed.

You know I do the snacks in between meals, I don't think I could make it without them.  Of course my snacks are protein drinks that have no carbs, 23 grams protein and around 90 calories.  They really help me get through the morning and afternoon.

Is next week when you are going to New Orleans?  If it is I hope you have a great time and celebrate that birthday in style!!

Linda, You're such a sweetie.  First, thanks for giving us those updates on Gina.

I think I need to find some lower calorie protein powder.  Mine has 140 calories for 30 grams but I put 4 oz of nonfat soymilk in as well.

I'm going to NO next Thursday morning.  I can't wait!!  :)

I've been thinking about this hunger thing all day, trying to figure out what is different this week than all the rest.

1st.  I started drinking Crystal Light Lemonade.  I wonder if the acid is adversely effecting my Sleeve.

2nd.  When I went to my 3 month post-op checkup, I told my surgeon that I was hungry a lot and he thought it was that my Sleeve was irritated, making me think I was hungry.  He sent me home with Carafate to soothe my Sleeve.  I used it for a week and then felt better.  So I started wondering if this is irritation and not hunger.  Maybe I can't read the new signals that I'm getting from my Sleeve.

I'm going to pull out that Carafate and give it a try this weekend to see if things will calm down in there.

Thank you all for your good suggestions and warm thoughts!

Hello Sleeve.... this is me talking.  Behave yourself down there!!

I think it is harder now to know whats going on with my stomach etc.  I know I had this gall bladder pain/pressure/irriation for 2 months and I just thought this is the way I am supposed to feel now.  That is until the night I doubled over, then I knew something was wrong!  I am looking forward to seeing how I feel with it out!  Have fun in NO!

Sandi, you're going to feel so much better after healing from the gallbladder removal.

I know what you mean about not knowing what all the signals mean.  Thank goodness you went to the doctor!
