I live in the Raleigh area and the rain was so bad this morning that I felt my CR-V gliding on top of the water running off I-40 on my way to work - scared the crap out of me.  I would have loved a 2 hour delay so I could see tha****er.  I am a teacher and so many kids came in soaking wet.  Some called home for dry clothes - others put on spare shorts/t-shirts from the lost and found [we wash and dry them and give them to the counselors for emergencies]  while we dried their clothes in one of the three dryers in our middle school.  Think those dryers ran all day long.

Rain let up here mid afternoon and there was a distinct demarcation  splitting the county in half lengthwise where it was raining in the east and drying out in the west.  I live in the western part of the county and I am really happy about that.  We have gotten 8.5 inches of rain since Sunday.  Thinking about building a boat.

I know how you feel about the rain. I am a teacher in Eastern NC. We had the day off due to flooding. We will have tomorrow off too. 'We are supposed to have homecoming at our church this Sunday. Went by the church today the back is flooding. I pray the water goes down. Not sure what we will do if it doesn't. It has rained for 5 days straight! Had to let the dog out his dog house was floating! He is resting on dry land on our front porch and loving it. I just went out to see him a few minutes ago. Happy as a lark up there. Hope things get better for you.
Nothing tastes as good as this feels!
