Im a big fan of fashion thats not trying too hard . But normally i hate flats - for the simple reason that they make everyones Azz look totally flat , that they show every bit of that last twenty lbs every female could stand to lose ....and are basically an unkind fashion .
Today i took home ( free ) a pair of eelskin handmade ( flat ) cowboy boots lol .
The only reason i even considered this is because when i was working in Barneys on my break trying on thousand dollar pairs of Prada combat boots - the flat ones actually looked the best . I didnt buy them ...but when i saw similar ones free of the runway i couldnt resist ....
whats my point here ? well I suspect im finally geting to be that girl who is actually , well SLIM,LOL .
You know, slim without CRUTCHES like platform sneakers with little 3 inch inch hidden platform heels lol . ( not hat i wouldnt JUMP on the right pair of platform sneakers ) .
but i havent pictured myself as one of those model girls who effortlessly stride around Manhattan in their flat motorcycle boots and tiny leather jackets and size twenty five non stretchy jeans and boys department mini t shirts looking perfect ..... perfectly makeupless....... or bare( and perfect ) legged in a mini kilt ....
yet my legs are that good .....and, well , those boots looked darn good on me at Barneys . In any case i couldnt resist .today .and they seem to look real good on me at home too.
I weighed 125 in one corner of the wacky room on my wacky scale this morning . I dont know how seriously to take it - im just glad i didnt weigh any HEAVIER than 130 - lets put it that way especially considering i havent been allowed to exercise .
Im very grateful OA is working 4 me. Ive been eating a LOT less ...and working a LOT more and a lot more happily . I even made a realistic sculpture ( the first one in YEARS ) on my fiances boat this weekend . WOW !!

Nice, Ava! I'm so grateful that you're getting what you need from OA.
I know what you mean I have a nice little NSV like this - I bought a pair of those Hunter rain boots, but my calves were a little big for them. They "fit" but too tightly to be cute. Now they fit and look adorable - in fact, I'm grateful they're so skinny because they make my legs look great!
Flats are kindof a must for crazy Manhattan walking. It's helpful to be able to wear them comfortably. Right now, I'm loving my kitten-heeled pumps because they're low for walking, but still thin the leg with their pointy toe.

Rosa-
That must feel great to fit into those things! I KNOW what that's like. The only Hunter style that fits my daughter's calves is the "Huntress" ... And sadly, they only come in British-sensible colors that are dour enough for the Queen. Poor girl. And cute boots are everywhere this season. At least I found her a couple of cute short boot styles she can wear.
Here's to the little woohoo moments.... like actually liking your reflection in the shoe department mirrors at Barneys for Ava and discovering you can jump right into your rain boots for you!

Ava, I love your post. Your life is so different from mine it is like reading from a storybook about a far away land. Glad you are loving your look.
