? for those doing moderate carb diet....what products do you love
I am doing a 40/30/30 plan...complex carbs...good fats...100 gr of protein daily.
I am totally into Hungry Girl and have found so many healthy substitutions for my favorites.
Just looking for suggestions for good low carb products to have on hand. Anyone try Carbquick?
Would love to know about any others products that you recommend...I plan to place an order with Netrition soon.
TIA!!

Kroger and affiliates have Carbmaster yogurts too that are very good. We don't have them here so I buy Dannon Greek Yogurt and mix my own goodies into it to make it taste good. A 1/2 scoop of a fruity flavored protein powder, currently I'm on a SF pudding kick with Sf pie filling (like 0% fat greek yogurt, a teaspoon of SF cheesecake pudding, with SF cherry pie filling and some sprinkles of graham cracker crumbs on top for a cheesecake - yum).
I also like the Sara Lee low calorie/carb breads. I don't eat sandwichs at home hardly at all, so I don't eat much of it.
I'm sure others will pipe up. I'm looking forward to suggestions too. Where I live we are quite challenged in the grocery store department - most of them are owned by Spartan and all carry the same stuff.

Hey there...I am not doing anything specific like 40/30/30...I try to have a little bit of healthy carbs daily.
I like the whole wheat crackers, all bran, oatmeal (low cal), fat free lactaid milk (has carbs) whole wheat pasta, and thin breads if available. If not, then I usually gut out some whole wheat bread. There are a lot of products that are low carb ~ my criteria is that it NOT be SIMPLE carbs like white rice, white potato, white pasta, refined flour products. I like complex carbs as listed above and of course add fruits. (low sugar index fruits)
But there are most days where I won't touch any carbs listed above. No desire really...they just don't flirt with me like they used to...

I'm on my second box of Carbquick. It kind of has an after taste to it in some things. I go through spells of using it. I've made several recipes from their website.
I love to use Spaghetti Squash in the place of noodles in any recipe. I make Baked Spaghetti and Macaroni & Cheese with this instead of the noodles. Both taste really good. I tried to make hash browns but they didn't turn out as good - I am going to try again one day this week. If you want to try this, let me know if you need directions on how to cook it.
I bought one of Healthy Girl's recipe books, but haven't used it a lot yet.
Edited to add: I use Hood Calorie Countdown instead of regular fat free milk. When you mix it with something you can't tell the difference and it has a lot less carbs.

I need to do a much better job of getting in complex carbs and not simple ones. Simple ones are just so.....simple to find.
I am thinking of making a batch of brown rice and mixing a bit of it into whatever else I'm eating. i am finding that I feel better with a bit of carb in me.
Your pic is so cute -- you look like Valerie Bertinelli!

Love netrition.
I get Flackers from there, dill and savory are my faves, but not plain, definitely with something on them.
Also, Andre CRackerbreads - they are made with soy flour, so proteiny- and fibery, so moderatly carby, definitely not terrible stats.
Also, not so tasty alone (which is good for a chick who thinks a sleeve of crackers is a serving :} ) but good with stuff on top!
Except for the cinnamon ones! Except, I love havarti cheese slices on the cinnamon ones.
And Macadamia nut oil! I buy it from there because its cheapest there and oohhh sooo delicious and good for a human!
I also get my Syntrax Nectar Chocolate Truffle and Syntrax Chocolate Essensce from them, if vitaminshoppe is not having a sale.
Oooh! too, if you like PB2 - they have a much cheaper kind! just look it up on their web site, "peanut flour" is what its under.
I think Naturally More Peanutbutter is the shiz and the pb2 just leaves me wanting more, but *shrug* Not everybody is me! Anyway - the big bag of peanut flour costs the same or less than the container of pb2!
