I have a long history of constpation unless I am getting tons of fiber. Well, no fiber so far. I took benifiber with my optifast before surgery and started taking it again the week after. So far, no problems but I am still on liquids. I do 2 teaspoons in my decaf protein each morning and am good.

I take meds that do this to me, constipate, make things more solid. Try Phillips Colon Health Probiotics. Works wonders. Since I started taking it a couple months ago, I've been regular and it's "softer".

Add me to the list of the chronically constipated-something I never had a problem with before surgery. As a matter of fact, I just recently experienced the joy of my first hemorrhoid from all the straining. Miralax has helped tremendously. I took it everyday for the first five days and now I take it every other day. The name brand is rather pricey, but you can buy the generic version more reasonably. Good luck.
