I am so excited to be back!!!!!   My Mom is doing GREAT!!  We got her home on Friday and then had to rush her back Friday evening because her throat swelled up and got fire engine red.  They kept her all night and gave her antibiotics.  It did wonders for her.

On a good note...I lost 2 pounds!!  Our hosptial cafeteria is AWFUL!!!  Nothing by Carbs and Fat.  I can see why the nurses are all overweight. The first stay I lived on my Protein Drinks but the second stay I was umprepared because it was an emergency so I just made the best choices I could, which was oatmeal, a piece of fried fish, and fruit.

Roz!! I am glad you're back and glad that your mom is doing great!!

Today I feel pretty normal too. I think I pushed the envelope last week (surprised?? NOooo) by going back to work too soon. I worked 2 days and was off the rest of the week. Ugh, BUT today I feel great and can sit with no assistance and feel good. I did buy some flats to wear since I think part of last week was wearing dress shoes with heels that killed me even though my walks were to the restroom and the car and that's it. lol Oh well.

Today I have a simple menu...

S - Chocolate English Toffee Protein shake (45g/265 cal/1g fiber)
B - 1/2 cup cottage cheese w/sf jelly (13g/90 cal/2g fiber)
S - 1/4 cup Fiber One All Bran cereal (2g/30 cal/7g fiber)
L - Jack In the Box Southwest Chic Salad w/grilled chic and a drizzle of the dressing -  (28.5g/407 cal/5g fiber) UGH...should have stuck with planned lunch. :(
S - baby carrots and grape tomatoes
S - 1/4 cup Fiber One All Bran cereal (2g/30 cal/7g fiber)
D - ??

Protein: 90 (100 goal)
Calories: 822 (1000 goal)
Fiber: 22g (25g goal)

Water: 48 oz down and in 30 min will start up again to get to goal...(96oz goal)
Vitamins: 2 more doses for the day left
Miles: walk the dog later :)

Yesterday I snacked snacked snacked all day. STRESSED about the boy again. That explains the food choice for lunch today which is the left overs of my dinner last night. Chili burger w/o bun. Ugh, I can tell that stress triggers the snacking. Must keep a look out for that in the future.

ETA:  Why is it that I can down a salad that seems the same size preop and it sit just fine and when I eat 4oz of cottage cheese, i feel like I ate a gallon's worth?? So strange...

I hope you have a great day LW's...big hugs to ya'll

Roz,

I will be starting to post on this thread soon.  This is my 4th postop day.  I am learning a lot (and have been) from reading what everybody eats to stay fit.   I have walked every day since I've been home from the hospital and I did (along with my DH) a little more than 1/2 mile this morning... probably doesn't sound like much but it felt like it!

Fortunately, I have not burned out on the Isopure yet.  I did have 1 ounce of Silk chocolate soy milk and oh MY was it good!

Thanks for keeping us accountable.
