Fitness Challenge - September 25

LW's!!! You all get an A++ in my book for doing such a great job in your fitness. You all ROCK it!!! 

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far. Today I have doggy training class. Today I bring the diva dog...and a set of earplugs...I know she'll be barking and howling for like the first 30 min or so. I think we finally narrowed down her breed mix to be border terrier and chihuahua mix. So, I gotta finish up the homework the trainer gave us...yes, there's homework...lol...and then I've gotta get ready for class. 

Today, I am feeling good enough to go for a nice 2 mile walk. What about you? Any exciting plans this Saturday?

Hi Diana,

Enjoy your walk today!

I just finished a 5K walk around the lake.  We kept pretty good time but got slowed a bit by an organize 5K walk for education that has hundreds of people out there walking.  This afternoon I plan to swim for an hour and be lazy at the pool for the afternoon.

Here's a question to throw out.  Are you hungrier when you up the intensity of your cardio?

I've been pumping it up and really notice that I'm hungrier.  Maybe it's just a coincidence but I'd love to read other opinions.

You know, I've really upped my intensity lately with longer runs and throwing in some weights. I don't notice myself being any hungrier. Today, I really came to the realization that I need to throw some carbs into this body if I'm going to work out like this. For my run today, the calorie burn was around 800 calories. So, I figure I can get in a few extra carbs.....it may be in the form of wine tonight, but I feel I earned it today! LOL

Thanks for your take on the hunger.  This afternoon while swimming for an hour, it occurred to me that my PPI (acid blocker) might not be working optimally because people say they get so hungry when that happens.

The hunger just doesn't make sense because this summer I worked out 2-3 hours a day with weight lifting daily and I was never this hungry.  I'll give it a few days and see how it goes.

I have done alot of heavy cleaning today so maybe 300 calories burned there. I have started doing stretches and Pilates on my yoga mat at night while watching tv with dh. It is amazing to me how fast my flexibility is getting better! He enjoys the show too ;)

My goal is too burn 2000 extra calories a week....that is a good start. I have my diet pretty well under control, so I'm working on exercise in baby steps. My appetite goes WAY up with increased cardio too! So I am sticking low intensity cardio and resistance bands for now.

Got up early and took an 8 mile run with my buddy. We did it in 1 hour 38 minutes and there was a big hill. It felt great! I am a bit wimpy from it though.

I also got lots of housework done today, so I plan to rest tomorrow.
